Description of 1923 Ford Model T CUSTOM BUILT |
There are a lot of T Buckets being built out there. Some are built in back yards under a shade tree some in the homeowners two car garage some in the neighbors garage and some are built at a local body shop. in each of these builds it requires a purchase of a molded body the purchase of a rail system or tubing where you make your own rails. When you start to put the car together you find your rail system doesn't fit properly so you start to modify either the body or the rails or both. Chances are the car never handles properly {some do} because the rails aren't straight or the body isn't centered properly. Then you paint the car and the first three groups have to wait for a non windy day and so many of our local body shops don't have proper spray booths. Then there are manufactures who specialize in building T Buckets. Not a lot of these folks around but there are a few who cast their own bodies build their own rails who have equipment to determine the straightness of the tubing the squareness of the rail system. These folks produce a glove fit vehicle under the tight supervision of a quality control department. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE VEHICLES. More expensive than the do it yourselfbut oh so worth it. Everyone has to determine for themselves what they are willing to spend after all that's why there are Mercedes out there and used Chevrolet's. INTERESTING TRADES CONSIDERED ?????I have listed this beautiful T Bucket a few times and I know the real season is just starting but it seems my Ebay friends may have misjudged what I think the fair value of this car is. I have had silly offers of $8000.00 $10000 and a bid of just over $18000. This car was professionally built by Spirit Industries and it has just over 800 miles on it. I recently contacted them and they told me for them to build the car today it would cost right at $50000.00 at my asking price that's a hit of about $10.00 per mile. Am I the only person that sees the value here? If you think I still have it overpriced make me a reasonable offer but please before you make me a silly offer look around and see what you can buy at that price. Here are a couple examples of cost to build this vehicle. Front Wheels $1300.00 REAR WHEELS $2200.00 adjustable chrome qa1 coil over shocks $400.00 WILWOOD POLISHED BRAKE KIT $500.00 polished stainless steel FLAMING RIVER tilt column $469.99 polished radiator $850.00 chrome FLAMING RIVER STEERING BOX with chrome pitman arm $724.00 and the list goes on and on for 5 typed pages. These items total $6443.00 and you aren't even startedThere are two types of chrome plating. # 1 straight chrome an example and you folks that have gone through a car building process and its time to buy your bumpers you find an inexpensive one and you see others that are at least twice as much well if you bought the inexpensive one it was straight chrome plated and a couple years later you noticed red rust bleeding through the chrome and perhaps you see areas where the chrome is pealing. #2 chrome nickel the addition of nickel in thee tank gives you a far better bonding of the product and you'll probably never see red rust unless you nick the chrome through to bare metal. Be prepared to spend at least twice as much for this process and be prepared to wait and wait for delivery because there are very few companies that can do it. There are lots of companies that do the straight chrome. A good example of chrome nickel plating is on a Harley and this T BUCKET . This car has so many upgrades they are too numerous to mention. I hope the pictures will tell you the story. If you have any questions please let me know. Interesting trades will be considered such as cars high end firearmsboats and ???. I thank you for your consideration. I have several other interesting items listed if you care to take a peek. |
