Description of 1988 GMC Suburban |
This auction is for a 1988 GMC Suburban Barn Doors. It is a 2500 or ¾ ton 2 wheel drive. It has a fuel injected 454 big block with a turbo 400 transmission. I was told the trans was rebuilt at around 90k miles and it works excellent. I purchased it from the 2nd owner. I have never seen one this clean and original not to mention the excellent mechanical condition. The Exterior: it has ZERO rust!!!!! Garaged all its life. It has had some paint work done to the right rear quarter panel and the left front door. The paint is peeling on the roof and the cowl screen as many of this era and color did. The right front door is bent some around the mirror likely due to something striking the mirror. The hood has several dings possibly from hail but shows well otherwise. All body panels and windows function as they should. Mechanical: The AC is a front unit only and works as it should. Has had a compressor put on it and converted to 134A. Trans was rebuilt at 90K miles and works perfectly. Engine runs flawlessly and has excellent power/torque, ulls a loaded car trailer with ease. Has a Class IV hitch and a working brake controller. Has brand new Heart Throb 2 ¼ mandrel bent dual exhaust. New radiator hoses and coolant. New battery. The 2 rear tires are new and the front tires are worn but useable with no apparent alignment issues. Spare & jack are present. Everything works including the cruise control. The original radio is in it but does not work. There is a chip in the right rear ¼ glass but does not appear to be all the through, ll other glass is very nice. Interior: The dash is mint as I can tell. Door panels are as close to mint as they get also. Blue cloth Captain's Chairs/bucket seats with console. Seats are in near perfect condition. The seat arm rests seem to have lost their foam/puffyness but the material is fine. The headliner has seen better days and needs to be redone. The carpet is very nice with minimal staining in a few spots. Factory floor mats are in it and very nice. Please look closely at the pictures and ask questions prior to bidding. This is not a show truck but an excellent survivor with no current mechanical issues and it shows well too. I will NOT end the auction early for any reason so please don't ask. It does NOT come with tags and/or insurance. High bidder is responsible for ALL shipping and transportation costs and will be picked up here no exceptions. I will not arrange for shipping etc but am willing to aid in loading and proper turn over to a shipper/transport company at this location. This vehicle will drive wherever you wish to go just bring a tag if you want to drive it to its new home. $500.00 deposit due within 72 hours after the end of the auction via cashier's check. Balance due in full within one week of end of the auction IN CASH absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS. If you have less than 50 feedback, ou must notify me prior to bidding. UNITED STATES RESIDENTS ONLY! Please don't waste my time with questions if you don't have the $ or intend on buying this Suburban. The reserve is $5000.00 which I believe is reasonable.
