Description of 1956 GMC Other Deluxe Hydramatic |
This truck is a late 1955 GMC 100 Shortbed Stepside. Originally a V8 Pontiac Motor with Hydramatic Transmission. This was a well optioned truck when new. Deluxe Chrome trim,Chrome grill, umper,Chrome window frames, verload springs etc.. One family owned from new. From Fallon NV, igh, ry desert. Though it does have rust in cab corners. Otherwise very solid. Original paint except rear fender was repainted at some point long ago. Parked since the late 80's. In the early 80's the original engine and trans were removed and a late 60's C-10 SBC was installed cleanly with Auto trans. Still hooked up to the original Hydramatic linkage, ncluding the hard to find carbkick down. Original hydramtic shifter is still in the truck (arm is broken but I have it). I recently flushed the fuel system, opped off the brake fluid and put a battery in it. It smoked for about 5 minutes, dled perfect and cleared right up. Now it runssurprisingly smooth. I have been driving it around the neighborhood with noissues. Electrical all works, gauges and lights (no tail lights). Fires right up, hoke backs offquickly and has solid oil pressure. I think with tires it could be a driver as is. Tires are old and staggered size, hus the racked stance. Otherwise stock suspension. I have two leaf springs that were removed to drop the front. It has old air shocks on the rear. Stock rear end. I haveacquired a correct Pontiac 316 and Hydramtic Transmission to make this truck stock again. It came from an identical truck. It wasrunning and driving when removed to build a hot rod. Motor still has linkage and is complete minus carb. Complete from fan to driveshaft. I will put it on a pallet in the bed of the truck if shipping. Interior is stock and clean. Has wrong seat but it fits. Dash is all original. Floors still have original paint and are very clean. Still has its originalbed wood. It had a plate of steel over the top that I removed. I have the "bardon style" bumper that was on the truck from new and itwill be included. Side glass is all good, indshield and rear glass are broken and will need replaced. I have original NV title and Bill of sale that match the original data plate and frame number. No issue shipping anywhere in the world. I can have the truck delivered to the Port of Oakland for $250 and to Los Angeles/ Long Beach for $350. Please ask questions before bidding. |
