Description of 1941 GMC Other

HERE IT IS!! This is definitely NOT for the street rod snobbery elite! The fit and finish department called in SICK on this one. Now, f you're still with me, N WITH THE SHOW! I present to you this original RAT! I remember, any years ago, hen I could go to a car show or cruise in and everything had to be perfect, hiny, and polished to perfection. Then came a blessing to us "other hot rodders", HE RAT ROD!! This '41 GMC pickup has been rumbling around in my head since I was a kid! It doesn't have fuel injection, ower steering, ower brakes, ir conditioning, eater, r even door glass. What it does have, s an undeniable cool factor, nd a "thumbs up", or, I love your truck", VERYWHERE YOU'LL GO!! She's on a mid eighties S-10 chassis, o, odern ride and drive, he manual steering and brakes are very functional, nd add to the"OLD SKOOL" appeal. as does the original steering column, ecause to me, big, at, odern column just wouldn't suit this build. This thing is rough n' reddy, o hang on! I also didn't go the "350" route, ather, "baby" "327". I bored a 1970 model "307" .040, ut in new rings on flat top pistons, nd all new bearings, ustom, igh pressure oil pump"70-75"psi@ 55 MPH!! "30-45"psi@ 180*@750 RPM idle! Next, he got a new 270H Competition cams magnum camshaft and lifters, s well as new double roller timing set. The energy then goes through new lifters and push rods, o a set of 1.6 ratio (makes the cam bigger) aluminum, ull roller rocker arms, hich control the valves in a set of "605" casting "305 HO" heads, hich are the ideal street head for this combo. An old style, ingle plane, delbrock "torker" intake, opped by a freshly rebuilt Holley "650" carburetor. An "H.E.I." distributor and Accel wires fire the plugs. Exhaust gasses exit through full length, ong tube Camaro headers, o early Flowmasters via 3" pipe, ell behind back of the cab. Now, ack to power. From the "S.F.I." flex plate, nto a "3,500 RPM" DAYCO torque converter, nd 350 turbo with a mild shift kit, nd controlled by a "B&M Z-gate" shifter, t is transferred to the S-10 rear, nto 15x10 Cragar SST wheels, 0 series tires, nd finally to the pavement. Now, his old truck is rusty, attly, ented and dinged, ut, he floor is super strong and solid, eing started by welding steel framework in the whole cab floor area. Next, screwed down a sheet of 7/16" O.S.B (CHIP BOARD), his was plenty sturdy and solid, ut then I also covered this, mostly for the look), ith rough sawed, " pine, arn lumber (screwed down solid). Sure, ometimes instead of Lexan plexi-glass in a rusty frame, ranked out to let the breeze in, sealed, afety glass windshield would be nice, ut so many other people have them, nd we want to be different! All in all, 'm just saying that this is a super-cool old truck, hat's always the center of attention wherever it is, ut even I'll admit, t's not for everyone. If you don't like rat rods, hen move on, ut if you do, hen bid accordingly. Truck is sold as is, ith no warranty. All sales final.
