Description of 1956 GMC Town and Country Suburban Carrier

This is a factory built Promotional truck by GMC in 1956. It is called a Suburban Carrier and was GMC's version of the Cameo.
You can read online all about only 300 built a year for three years, hey are rare for sure. But the actual production numbers are unknown and anyone stating numbers as facts aremisleading. I have been following these trucks for over 10 years. And in that time about one a year has come up for sale.
This truck was purchased new in 1956 inMassachusetts from the local GMC dealer by the original owner (now in his 90's). In 1958 he drove the truck to San Diego California where it has resided since. It was driven until 1976 and he stated it was a "great truck". Was running when parked but he bought a new truck and never drove it again except around the property a year or two.
It is complete and totally original with all its hard to find parts.
Very little rust, ut does have some. Mainly the door pocket on drivers side near step (seen in photos). And bottom of front fenders.
Front fender was dented at somepoint and the bondo is cracking out of it.
The grill, nd trim is very straight on this truck.
Bed is nice, ut was backed into and has about an 8 inch crack on drivers side, ery repairable. The paint has cooked off the fiberglassdifferently than the body, ut it is stock to the truck and never removed. Has spare carrier under bed behind bumper.
The motor turns over and has clean oil (carb was covered and taped off). Trans also has clean fluid. Neither has any sign of any moisture.
All glass isoriginal and good except one door glass is cracked.
Has bigWindow Deluxe trim cab, actory visor, adio, resh air heater, rm rests, actory Tach, potlight, tc...
Even the tire are from pre 1976 but do hold air (tubes). It rolls and steers.
I have just applied for a current CA title in my name as it was "out of the system". I will have title in hand within 2 weeks or about the time the auctions ends and transportation arrangements are made.
I will ship anywhere. Hauling to the Port of Oakland is $250 and LA/ Long Beach ports is $350.
I may sell the black 55 Town and country soon as well.

I probably should have mentioned the truck has its original Pontiac 316 V8 and Hydramatic Automatic Transmission.
