Description of 1973 GMC Sierra 2500 Camper special |
I am selling my 3/4 Ton GMC Sierra Grande Camper Special today due to I have too many other projects to tackle and am being tasked with this engine needing to have the heads rebuilt. I put some 454 heads I had on and after MUCH work and strife found myself taking it ALL back apart last weekend! The 454 heads are not accommodating the pop up pistons. So, when I went to adjust the valve train I quickly found out that I couldn't rotate the crank!!! YEAH! So, I'm at the LAST straw! I have rebuilt the brakes new rotors pads, rear shoes, new tires, exhaust system, it is a great truck that was never driven much. It sat in the shade a lot because that is the original paint! I replaced the drivers door. It met the fate of someone backing with the DOOR open! ouch! That was the only damage on the truck. The rear tailgate is not original, I personally think that the original owner put it to the side since this truck has a sliding rear bumper & had a 5th wheel attachment I think as well. Long story short, the tailgate never made it back to the truck when the person passed away or what have you?? The black carpet was in it when I got it. The seat in it now is from my '77 GMC. It has the ability to fold in order to utilize the area behind the seat. The OEM seat did not fold so you had no access to put tools etc. behind other than sliding seat forward.... :-( It really sucks to see ALL the time and $$$ go down the drain, I JUST CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP GOING.... YOUR GAIN! The pics of the new exhaust aren't shown, it IS NEW! Still shiny metal! I PUT ALL NEW U-JOINTS AS WELL... :-( TON OF $$ NEW SHOCKS TOO! **THIS TRUCK NEEDS THE HEADS REBUILT! I AM PROVIDING THE 402 HEADS AS WELL. (NOT SHOWN.) I AM ALSO PROVIDING A CAST IRON MANIFOLD THERE IS NO CARB. IT WILL NEED PUSH RODS & ROCKER ASSEMBLIES. WHICH SINCE HEADS WILL BE REBUILT YOU WOULDN'T WANT OLD STUFF ON THERE! I HAVE SOME CHROME VALVE COVERS & OTHER STUFF THAT GOES WITH IT. ** ** DOES NOT RUN! NEEDS TOWING OR ?? ACCOMMODATIONS.** I am trying to clear up any questions that might arise. Please ASK if you have any that I MIGHT BE ABLE TO ANSWER, I don't know ANY history of past owner(s).... Good luck! |
