Description of 1986 GMC Sierra 1500 |
I have mixed emotions on selling this truck but, I figure I would let it run its course. To say you would be buying a nice truck that needs nothing would be an understatement, hence my reservations on selling it. I am incredibly picky when it comes to my trucks and though this truck is not a concourse off the showroom restoration this is a very high end cab on restoration with high quality expensive parts. Fresh 500 mile restoration on this 1986 GMC Sierra Classic K1500 Shortbed, all factory options, power windows, power locks, cruise control, clock, air conditioning, tilt wheel, dual fuel tanks. I built this truck to keep but, unfortunately my priorities just aren’t what they use to be. I know I will regret selling this truck considering how much time, effort, money and NOS parts I collected to build this truck. I am sure if you are looking at this body style truck you have seen how much NOS parts sell for. This truck was not assembled by opening an aftermarket catalog and ordering a bunch of trim that doesn’t fit or isn’t correct. Exterior:Complete rust free body with new high dollar 2-stage base coat clear coat factory color 72 Apple Red. New body side molding, new NOS GM wheel well trim, NOS GMC grille, NOS GM hood ornament, new lights, refinished emblems, new headlight bezels, new NOS window weather stripping on all windows, NOS GM chrome window lock strip, new GM rear sport bumper, new body mounts, new NOS GM hood and tailgate bumpers, NOS GM cargo lamp, New GM back of cab trim. The fenders, hood and doors were jammed prior to them being installed and then the entire truck was painted. Core support, frame, axles and inner fenders painted in satin black epoxy. Interior:NOS GM dash pad, new molded carpet kit, new NOS arm rest pads, new NOS door pull straps and covers, new NOS sill plates, LED interior lights, full Kenwood stereo system with amp and subwoofer, Mint original seat with a couple eraser size damage marks, I have and will include 3 rolls of new upholstery in the correct color and style, recovered headliner, new GM power window regulators and motors, new cardboard behind seat package tray, I had a new SPID label made for the glove box showing the original option list. New GM power window and lock switches. Drivetrain:GM Goodwrench 350 crate motor, Edelbrock performer intake manifold, Edelbrock 600cfm carb, new GM alternator, GM water pump, GM A/C compressor/drier, new exhaust manifolds, new y pipe with 3” dynomax super turbo exhaust with GMC tailpipe tip. Rebuilt stage 2 700R4 transmission, re-sealed and painted NP208 transfer case. New ACDELCO battery. Suspension, axles and frame completely detailed and painted with Epoxy Satin Black. Suspension and Axle:I replaced the original ½ ton axles with axles from a 1986 ¾ ton pickup, 10 bolt front with 4.10 gears and locking hubs, 14 bolt semi-floating rear axle 4.10 gears. Front has 4” Tuff Country EZ ride springs, Sway bar drop brackets, Off Road Design Steering box brace, 4” rear blocks, Skyjacker Hydro shocks and stabalizer, Energy suspension 4.5” bump stops front and rear. Tires and Wheels:16x10 Weld Super Single aluminum wheels on LT305/70R16 33x12.50R16 Dick Cepek FC II tires with 90% tread. This truck is in amazing condition the miles shows 86,000. Knowing the history of the truck and based upon the carfax I believe it to be original. No modifications were made to install the lift or axles. The only major modification is the fact the dash is cut for the CD player. Includes owners manual and dealer brochure. The last picture shows what the truck was before the restoration. If buyer wants the truck back to stock original condition with 1/2 ton axles, stock suspension, stock ralley wheels and 31" tires we can discuss this. I see no issues driving this truck anywhere.
