Description of 1949 GMC Pickup |
1949 GMC Pickup Pro-Touring VIN: 10122P23294 This '49 GMC has a story so long, that I won't be able to fit into this description. This is a custom built '49 GMC built by Tre 5 Customs out of Arizona. They purchased the truck in June of 2014 and took about 6 months to complete the build. I'm going to let their description speak for itself and highlight the main features in the list below: "Power adders include Comp camshaft, Pro Products intake manifold, K&N intake system, 3" mandrel bent and TIG welded exhaust, stainless headers, Frontrunner serpentine belt system, etc. The transmission is a 4l60e and was brand new from B&M. The rear end is a GM 12 bolt, rebuilt with new gears, bearings, seals, and limited slip. Chassis has G-body suspension up front from Ridetech with adjustable coilovers, with both height adjustment and dampening adjustments. The rear suspension is a custom built, fully adjustable, parallel 4 link with panhard bar and adjustable Ridetech coilovers. The big brake package has 13" rotors all the way around and a CPP master cylinder and booster setup. The truck rolls on 20"x8.5" (front) and 20"x10" (rear) Intro billet wheels wrapped in 245/40R20 and 275/40R20 Toyo Proxes ST ii tires. All the suspension has been powder-coated gloss black, the chassis and the rest of the components have been painted. The exhaust is ceramic coated from the headers all the way to the rear bumper. The exterior of the truck has been cleaned up and a few custom touches have been added, but it still retains a mostly stock appearance. It's finished in a painted pearl white found on the newer Cadillacs. The underside of the four fenders, the engine compartment, the interior, and everywhere, except the underside of the cab, are all painted in the same manor as the parts you see. The underside of the cab, the cab floor, the inside of the firewall, under dash, and inside back wall of the cab have all been seam sealed, sealed, and bed-lined. The bed-floor is oak and has been stained and clear coated. The interior is very comfortable for an old single cab truck. The dash has been treated to Dakota VHX gauges, new chrome dash trim with Hydro-dipped inserts to match the bed floor. The seat frame is original, but all the springs were removed in favor of all new webbing and foam for a much more comfortable seat. The door panels, kick panels, and center console are all custom built and everything has been wrapped in a leather like material. The stereo system includes a pioneer double din touch screen DVD unit, two sets of 6" component speakers, two 10" subs, and one 5 channel amplifier (all from Rockford Fosgate). The truck also has a Vintage Air Gen ii AC system. The truck was an inside booth vehicle at Sema 2015 for the company that supplied me with the paint materials for the truck, it was the focus of several tech articles in Street Trucks magazine, it made the cover of Street Trucks magazine in 2016, and was featured in an episode of Auto Revolution."
