Description of 1971 GMC Sierra 1500 Sierra Custom 1500 |
Really decent, good running and driving, mostly stock and original 1971 GMC Sierra Custom 1500 with a factory 4bbl carb (Rochester Quadrajet) and factory AC. It's spent a lot of it's life in the desert Southwest but enough time in its early days up north to develop average to light rust in the typical areas. My buddy is cutting down on his truck collection and has asked me to sell it for him (I'm the Ebay go-to among my circle of friends). The interior is in really good condition with factory AC (needs fan belt) and the optional gauge package. Seat has been freshly upholstered. Doors open and close solidly and windows roll up and down. Floorboards have average rust (easily repaired with patch panels readily available in the aftermarket). I've treated them with Rust Reformer so it won't spread. Dash is excellent with no cutting or butchery other than a small incision to fit the aftermarket stereo. All gauges work as does the heater fan. Side and rear glass is good but front glass has a crack on the passenger side away from the drivers field of vision. The exterior has a patina that only Mother nature could create and the paint is largely original. The right side of the body is in really good condition with some small dents and mirror holes. The left side has larger door dents (definitely repairable) and a front fender which you may choose to replace. Both bedsides are in good condition with rust confined to the rear section of the inner panels. Cab rust is limited to rockers and rear cab corners (again, easily repaired with patch panels readily available in the aftermarket). Tires are older and should be considered rollers. Windshield wipers and most front lights work. The running gear is really strong. Engine is a small block 350(upgraded with HEI ignition)and has the factory Rochester Quadrajet 4 barrel carburetor option. It fires easily but could stand a tuneup because it has been sitting for some time. Nonetheless, it still runs and drives really nicely with crisp shifts although it takes some muscle with manual steering (could use an alignment) and brakes (front discs/rear drums). It has a dual exhaust system with turbo style mufflers. Transmission is a Turbo 350 which shifts properly but has typical pan gasket leaks from sitting. Differential is a 12 bolt style with 3.73 gears. This is an awesome drivetrain package which functions very well and should be consider a strong selling point. Send or text me your email address and I'll get them to you. This very cool 1971 GMC Sierra Custom 1500 pickup truck is located in the dry, desert community of Santa Clara, Utah(about 125 miles north of Las Vegas). Good luck and good bidding. |
