Description of 1955 GMC Other

THIS 1955 FIRST SERIES TRUCK WAS PURCHASED BUY MY NEIGHBOR IN 1955 AND BECAME THE MAIN SERVICE TRUCK AT LENEXA KANSAS DOWN TOWN GAS STATION . DAVE BRUIER SKELLY. HE WOULD FIX CARS AND OUR BYCYCLE TIRES AND ALWAYS WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO HELP OTHERS. HE SOLD THE TRUCK TO A LOCAL RESIDENT THAT PARKED IT BEHIND HIS BARN AND THAT IS WERE IS SAW IT AND ASKED TO BUY IT. HE SOLD IT TO ME AND WE TOWED IT HOME AND DAVE WAS STILL ALIVE AND CAME OVER AND SAT IN THE TRUCK AND WENT THROUGH THE GLOVE BOX AND WE HAD A NICE TALK ABOUT THE OLD GMC. I STARTED TO FIX UP TRUCK AND GET IT ROAD WORTHY AND DROVE NIT THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL AS A 2 WHEEL DRIVE TRUCK. MY FRIEND HAD A NICE 1969 GMC 4X4 AND HE AND I WOULD BE CLASSIFIED AS THE GMC TEAM AGAINST OUR OTHER FRIENDS CHEVYS AND FORDS IN ALL 4X4 EVENTS. ONE DAY I MEASURES THE WHEEL BASE AND TO MY SURPRISE WAS EXCACTLY THE SAME AND FROM THAT DAY FORWARD ALWAYS WANTED THE 1969 TO MAKE MY 1955 A 4X4. WELL ONE DAY MY FRIEND JOINED THE MARINES AND SOLD ME THE TRUCK TO BUILD MY DREAM. THIS WAS JULY 25 1985. I DID A PRELIMINARY BUILD THEN TOOK TO ENGLEMAN ENGINEERING TO MOUNT EVERY THING PROPERLY. HE EVEN HAD ANOTHER TRUCK BROUGHT OVER LIKE THIS ONE FOR MEASUREMENT AND PERFORMED A VERY NICE JOB AND HAD SO SELL A JEEP TO GET THE TRUCK PAID FOR AND BACK FROM HIM. IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY THE COST TO MOUNT WAS ABOUT $4500. 00 BUT WAS WELL WORTH IT. I CONTINUED TO FIX TRUCK AND DRIVE IT. ALWAYS AWARE TO KEEP ANY RUSTING FROM HAPPENING. I HAVE USED ALOT OF POR AND RUST PREVENTATIVE COATINGS. IF THE TRUCK NEEDED ANYTHING I ALWAYS FIXED IT. IT IS A WORKING TRUCK AND THAT IS THE BEAUTY OF IT. SO MANY COMPLIMENTS ALL THE TIME AND HARD TO DESCRIBE HOW ATTRACTIVE THIS TRUCK IS AND IT SEEMS THAT BECAUSE IT IS NOT A TOTALY SHOW TRUCK PEOPLE ARE SO DRAWN TO IT AND DONT FEEL LIKE YOU ARE BETTER THAN THEM. IT IS A REAL AMERICAN EXPERIENCE TO DRIVE THIS TRUCK ANYWERE. TWO YEARS IN A ROW I HAVE ENTERED IT IN OUR LOCAL PARADE AND TOOK THIRD PLACE. THIS YEAR WHEN THE CITY CALLED ME TO LET ME KNOW I HAD WONE. THEY SAID THEY LOVED HAVING ME IN THE PARADE. THAT WAS AMAZING. THE TRUCK IS WELL BUILT AND IF YOU WANT A SHOW PAINT JOB. BETTER LOOK FOR ONE OF THOSE 30 TO 40 THOUSAND DOLLAR TRUCKS. BUT IF YOU WANT A REAL PART OF AMERICAN HISTORY TO FIX UP THIS IS THE TRUCK. NO ONE BEATS THIS TRUCK OR THE COMMENTS WEREVER YOU GO. IT TOWES A CAR TRAILER LIKE ITS NOT EVEN BACK THERE. I DONT ABUSE THE TRUCK AND IF IT DOESENT SELL THEN ITS NOT THE LORD WILL. SO DONT SENT RUDE MESSAGES LOW BALLING IF IT DOES NOT SELL YOU WILL BE IGNORED. IF SOMEONE IS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BUY IT YOU WILL BE HAPPY TO OWN THIS FINE AMERICAN MACHINE. THE FIRST TIME I APPLIED FOR TITLE APPLICATION FOR THE 1955 WAS DEC 24 1981 BUT I OWNED THE TRUCK FOR QUITE AWILE BEFORE GETTING IT ON THE ROAD. IT DRIVES GOOD AND RUNS GOOD AND IS VERY POWERFUL AND STRONG. EVERYTHING HAS BEEN REPLACED ON THE TRUCK THROUGH TIME. ITS A GOOD ONE. DOES COME WITH MATCHING 3/4 TON TRAILER WITH OVERLOADS
