Description of 1972 GMC Sierra 2500 Sierra Grande |
1972 GMC Sierra Grande 4x4 2500 ¾ ton K20 This is the best of breed regarding 67-72 GM pickup trucks. 72 is the best year with the most sought after components, add the Sierra Grande package and you have the best one GM made. This is the equivalent to the Chevy Cheyenne Super. Both rare in factory 4x4 form, but far less GMC’s out there than Chevy. This truck is mechanically excellent, needs some cosmetic items to be outstanding. Please watch the video as I go into more detail, and view the PhotoBucket link. This is a factory 4x4 pickup, evident from K in the VIN code. Very important as most are converted 2wd’s, the frames and cross-members are different and usually not done right. This truck underwent a full restoration 7-8 years ago, needs minor things to bring it back to restored glory. I bought this truck in Montana to complete and re-sell, but need some cash for 3 other GM truck projects going right now. Click this YouTube link for a 14 minute video. https://youtu.be/e4uCHMNxCVg Click this Photobucket link for 83 pictures. http://s953.photobucket.com/user/fj40man79/library/1972%20GMC%20Sierra%20Grande MECHANICAL Original small block 350 built to 375-400HP. Edelbrock 4 barrel electric choke carburetor, MSD ignition will control box with rev-limiter chip. Ceramic headers to dual glass-packs. Optima battery, power steering, power front disc brakes. The original TH-350 3 speed automatic was upgraded to a newer 700R4 which is a later model not available in 72 overdrive 4 speed automatic. Cruises at 2000rpm at 70MPH. Huge upgrade for driveability. Gear driven 205 transfer case. Dana 60 rear axle with factory “Power Lock” Posi, Dana 44 front with large hubs. Mechanicals were rebuilt 7-8 years ago with very few miles. Air bags on rear suspension. Previous owner spent a fortune on top quality parts to ensure he could comfortably drive this truck with a pickup camper towing a horse trailer. Truck drives and runs excellent, very tight and fun to drive. Factory A/C truck, missing A/C components under the hood. More details on video. BODY This truck is 99% rust free. There are some bubbles at the bottom on both doors, one spot on passenger rocker, video goes into more detail. Otherwise the paint looks great, straight body and excellent frame. The bed is beautiful and straight with Rhino liner. Original panels except for an aftermarket steel cowl induction hood and different tail gate. Excellent tread on Toyo Mud Terrains on new aluminum wheels. Aftermarket new radio to look like the original with CD changer in glove box. Montana cell phone (CB Radio) as 90% of MT has no cell service. Please check out all the pics and watch the video before contacting me, glad to answer additional questions. I will sell the truck to the 1st local cash in person or bank to bank wire from long distance buyers at a firm $15,500. That is the lowest I will take, no need to haggle. Truck sold as you see it, I don’t have time for any additional work. Wire to my US Bank business account. Papers or vehicle do not leave my property until paid in full. I’m a licensed vintage auto appraiser and take no offense in you hiring someone to look at this vehicle for you, I do it daily at the major auctions and for eBay buyers. I have a shipping broker whom I’ve worked with for years, I will put you in contact with him or work with your shipper. I have this truck priced to sell quick, I planned to put 3-4K into it, making it a 28-32K truck on the other end, I’ve sold several in that price range, you can see a few of them on my Photobucket library. Thanks for looking!
