Description of 1949 GMC Other Short Bed |
Up for bid is a beautiful 1949 GMC 3100 Short Bed Pickup Truck. This is not your grandpa's old farm truck! This beauty is set up to DRIVE! a 350 V8 attached to a 350 Turbo Automatic Transmission, Ford 9" rear with 3.73 gears, disc brakes, and power steering. The truck was frame restored about 8 years ago and has less than 1,000 miles on the restoration. The truck is still a show stopper and has been garage kept. Everything on the vehicle was new or rebuilt at the time of restoration. As you can see from the pictures, the base/clear coat is a brilliant Torch Red paint with an amazing shine and depth. The chrome accents sparkle and have a brilliant luster to them. The front grill was brand new and goes perfectly with the style of the truck. The frame shines gloss black. There is no shoddy spot welds or cut up floor pans. Floors, cab corners, doors, and fenders are all solid with no issues. The truck runs great! The 3" Flowmaster exhaust sounds incredible! The previous owner told me the engine was a 383 stroker, but had no documentation representing it as such. From experience I can tell you that by the sound and acceleration of this truck, it is not just some ol' 350! The truck rides and handles brilliantly down the road free of those stereotypical old car rattles and shakes. The fuel gauge has been off, and may need a sending unit to correct. Other than that, esthetically and mechanically this truck is turnkey ready. It needs nothing but your personal touch or flavor. Gauges, lights, blinkers, breaks, radio, etc. all function as they should. Reserve Price is set to $32,000 but will also consider other offers. It is a GMC and titled as a GMC but it does have a Chevrolet tailgate. Either way, it is a beautiful vehicle that is offered.
