Description of 1978 GMC Sierra 1500

1978 GMC Sierra classic 4x4 well optioned with power steering. power brakes. (disc on front) power windows. power door locks. gauge package. carpet. cloth seat. nice tight tilt steering column. sliding rear window. tow package. dual fuel tanks. It is also an a/c truck but the compressor and hoses are not installed but are included. also original cruise control does not work. odometer reads 95k plus. i have no idea what the real mileage is. Speedo is way off it reads 70 plus at 50mph. Here is that perfect truck to restore while you use it. Previous owner says it has about 35k miles on it. Turbo 350 that works well. Originally a full time four wheel drive so has the 203 transfer case that has a problem going into normal 4 high. It has locking warn hubs so i have been driving it in 4 lock with the hubs turned out. Not a problem for the small amount i drive it but will need repaired for long term use. Its a 15 series truck but the axles have been upgraded to 8 lug 3/4 ton. I believe its a dana 60 in front and the monster 11. 5 inch 14 bolt in the rear. Power brakes. disc in front drum in rear. Has about 50% tread on TOYO 285-75-16 tires with alloy rims. Starts. runs and drives very nice for 37 year old heavy duty truck. Body - Straight no major dents. Its a pacific north west truck so no salt roads means minimal rust. The only rust through i have found is in the passenger side front fender on the bottom. This is typical of the a/c optioned trucks from the condensation running down the inner fender. The floors. cab corners. rockers. rear wheel wells are all very solid. Inside of the bed is in nice condition and not all beat up like most i have seen at this price range. The paint has that patina everyone seams to be looking for. thats todays way of saying it needs a frickin paint job. All the glass is in perfect clear uncracked condition. Interior - original un modified condition. carpet is clean but faded to blue were it wasnt covered. Seat is cloth and starting to seperate at the seams which is to bad because it was covered and has no stains. All gauges and lights work. Still has the original am/fm radio with center speaker that works. Glass is all good. Heat works good. Dash has some cracks. I havent had it long but found a 72 k10 i would really like to own. I need 3800. 00 out of this one to make that happen. I think it is a fair price. Please have your shipping worked out before you hit the own it button. I believe I have covered everything.
