I bought this pickup from an older guy who has owned it for the last 50ish years and it sat in his barn for the for the last 35 years or so. We bought it with the intention of doing a showcase build but it runs and drives and looks too good to mess with! The truck has a '68 350 v8, and runs great. The engine, automatic trans and rear end are all out of the same car, which makes finding parts in any town you end up in way easier. We did new brakes, fuel system, and wheel bearings. It's starts right up on every attempt, stops at every light, and it's a heck of a lot of fun to buzz around in. The truck appears to be rust free, floors, rockers, cab corners, are all solid steel. The rear fenders have some dings, id replace if I restored but it kind of helps the "sleeper farm truck" thing it's got going. I guess the GMC's are pretty rare as the factory was on strike in early '46, they only made 16k trucks that year, while Chevy made almost 250,000 in the same year.
