Description of 1950 GMC Other |
The motor I changed to a 1954 GMC 302 . the previous owner made the intake and mounted a Holley Carb . I put a brand new Holley on & it runs great . can easily be changed back to a stock intake & carb. I put a large oil pan that holds twelve quarts of oil & a original larger capacity filter. I Replaced the transmission is four on the flour . stock . Original radiator re-built & brand new wiring harness . Drive-line has new U- joints & carrier bearing with a new rear end seal . New front brakes & the rears are like new . Solid rear rims . no more split rims . Windows roll up & down . door handles do not work from the outside only on the inside . The bed needs replacing . see photos " of new old sides . skirts & fenders are ( rough ) along with cross supports are in good usable condition . I also have the hinges for the tail gate . Driver side support of cab is rusted threw & the corners of the cab are rusted ( cancer ) also . see photos . Can all be easily fixed . Lots of miscellaneous parts . two heaters ( blue one GMC ) . two sets of corner glass & the tail piece support for the bed . see photo . If the truck is sold before my other listing of a 1953 270 GMC motor does with less than 8000 miles . I will throw it in the deal for " free ". Iv owned the truck for 15 years & drove it out from Northern California to Southern Colorado in 2007 . The truck was owned by a fire dept. in Watsonville California to haul equipment . On the roof are the original holes for the emergency lights & on the driver-side fender are the original holes for the siren . you can still see the original red paint on the fire wall. If you have any questions please just ask & if you find a better 1- ton for the price let me know so I can buy it . |
