Description of 1992 Honda Accord |
For Sale: 1992 Honda Accord EX four-door Sedan. 2. 2L 4 cylinder 5-speed manual transmission. This vehicle is in great shape for being over 22 years old. It is well equipped with power windows. door locks. mirrors and sunroof. as well as cold air conditioning. cruise control and rear window defroster. The manual controls for the trunk release and gas door operate perfectly as well. The factory OEM stereo system was still operating perfectly. and I still have the original radio and speakers. but as a former professional stereo/security installer. factory wasn't going to cut it. I installed a double-DIN Kenwood AM/FM/CD player with Bluetooth audio streaming and hands-free phone calls. with a front USB and AUX input. A set of Infinity Reference speakers are in the front doors and Kicker DX speakers are installed in the rear deck. An Alpine 50wX4 amplifier power both sets of speakers and an old Kenwood powered 8" subwoofer provides some bottom end to the package. My wife doesn't really care for heavy bass music and the install was such that the trunk could still be utilized and had access to the spare tire and jack. The power antenna still works and operates only when the AM/FM tuner is in operation. Other aftermarket electronic equipment added is a Viper Keyless Entry system that locks/unlocks the power door locks. has a panic feature and also can control the DEI automatic headlight control module. I've installed these auto headlight controls on all my older vehicles for the last 20 years. The module has a photo cell that senses darkness and operates the aftermarket HID headlights. nbsp;park lights and dash lights. the same as if you turned on the switch. Plus the system energizes the headlights whenever the ignition is turned "on" as "daytime running lights". and has an adjustable (at the module) delay turn off so that they will remain on in the dark for a predetermined time (I have them set to turn off after about 45 seconds). The AUX option button on the Keyless Entry remote can turn the headlights on/off is desired. I also added the option of using the Honda's extended accessory power that maintains power to the window controls to do the same for the stereo system. just like newer cars have. I also changed the cigarette lighter from ACC power to constant 12V. so you may use the power port without having the ignition on. MECHANICALLY/ELECTRICALLY. the car works great. All the switches and buttons work perfectly. Doors. windows. sunroof. trunk. hood. glovebox. ashtray. cup holders. you name it. they work like they should. Every light bulb from the front HID headlights. turn signals and park lamps. to the rear park/brake/turn signal/reverse/license plate lamps all work. All interior lights. including dash and climate control panel lights work great. A new battery was installed within the last 6 months. The 2. 2 litre engine runs great and can get over 30 mpg on the highway. I've had a new timing belt installed less than a year ago as well as all drive belts. I added a new set of Autolite spark plugs. The engine has virtually no oil leakage or consumption issues. At regular oil changes using Pennzoil High Milage 10w30 oil and a Fram filter every 3500 miles. the oil level is still within 1 quart of being full. The transmission shifts perfectly and has no issues with noise or leaking. There are no unusual noises in any of the suspension or axles (CV joints). I also had new tires put on less than 5000 miles ago (all tires have the same wear. there are sample photos in the gallery). The interior is clean and has no major wear. rips or stains. Cleans up very well. The plastic pieces are intact and do not show signs of cracking or fading. Please read the following for a little more history and information. as all this work wasn't done to SELL the car. we planned on KEEPING the car for a while. but my wife recently had some surgery. and we have some medical bills to pay off. We are the second owners of this vehicle and had purchased it as a second vehicle for my wife to help spread her 80 mile work day trip over two vehicles (her 2007 Mazda6 now has over 150. 00 miles on it). The original owners live locally here and the woman that drove it daily since new worked evenings as a USDA inspector and garage-kept the car at her home. They had kept meticulous records and receipts in a binder. which I have. They purchased a new vehicle a few years ago and had let their adult son use the car. The son did not kept records up and was the individual responsible for the only damage to the car. and after securing a second DWI. the parents took the car back and sold it to pay his fines. My wife and I purchased it. I have had two other similar cars. I still drive my own '92 Accord daily (for over three years) with it having almost 230. 00 miles on it. and I've pretty much done the exact same thing to both cars. just have different stereo systems. and my car isn't as clean as this one I'm selling. As a "car guy". I've always taken very good care of my vehicles and make sure everything works like it should. and perform upgrades where it suits my tastes. This car is as reliable as any car you'll find. and I have all expectations that it'll last through the next 80. 00-100. 00 miles where it'll need another set of plugs and another timing belt. and other normal wear parts such as tires. brakes. etc. Of course. it's not a guarantee. it's just what I honestly expect from this vehicle in it's current condition. We still drive this vehicle several times a month. so the vehicle's milage will vary when it is ultimately sold. but will still be maintained as if we will own it forever. The price is set according to what this vehicle is worth. especially with it's background. plus the extras I've added. (i. e. . stereo system. keyless entry. auto headlights. etc. ). and since I do still have the original stereo equipment and I did not modify the car for the sound system. the price can be reduced some by removing the aftermarket items and reinstalling the factory equipment. There is a "BEST OFFER" option. so if a low-ball offer is submitted. contact me to let me know that you are not wanting to purchase the car with the aftermarket stereo system. I will leave the keyless entry and headlight modules installed. as both can be disabled without affecting the operation of the original equipment. If you have an other questions or wish to see more photos. please contact me. A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of purchasing (winning) vehicle. Balance and vehicle pick-up must be done within 10 days or contact me if other arraignments are necessary. I have been as thorough and honest in describing this vehicle as possible. but it's possible that I've missed something. so again. please ask for more details or information. The car. after purchase and payment. maybe be delivered through your own transport arrangement. or can be driven anywhere with no worries. The tank will be full of gas and will average about 400 miles highway per tank. Once the car is purchased. we will no longer drive the car adding milage or wear. and it will be cleaned and detailed. and all maintenance will be up to date. If an oil change is due within 1000 miles. I will. if new owner wishes. perform that service. All mechanical work. tires and other preventative maintenance work is performed at a local auto repair shop where I formally was employed. The car is listed for sale locally. and therefore if I sell it locally. I will end this listing. Thanks again for looking at my car. |
