Description of 1978 Honda Civic |
This cute little 1978 Honda Civic CVCC belongs to my daughter. She has driven it exclusively for the last two years of school and all of her activities. It has a few upgrades, like a Weber carb, Dynamatt inside the doors and floorboards, plus extra sound deadening insulation, as well as an ACC (Auto Custom Carpet) Massback carpet kit, which is super high quality carpet with a heavy backing. The carpet kit in itself was $500. This car had everything from the exterior removed for paint work, upon reassembly the grill was repainted, as well as the headlamp bezels. All the vintage emblems were detailed and look amazing. This vehicle came from a dry environment, and is incredibly rust free. We were so lucky to find a super nice set of door seals, we also installed new glass run channels in the door, and the windshield gasket and moulding are also new. The car was painted about a year ago, and is very attractive, she gets compliments all the time. The wheels are powder-coated alloys with BF Goodrich radials that really complete the look. There is also a set of 50 % Michelins on powder coated wheels that she ran in the winter months. Front brakes and brake lines are brand new.Rear brakes are in excellent shape.New DEKA battery.New radiator about a year ago.New fuel pump.New master Cylinder.About 6 months ago we replaced the head gasket, timing belt, and water pump. Car has had regular oil changes while we have owned it, and uses about a quart every 1000 miles. It is equipped with a push-button for the starter, as a replacement ignition switch was hard to find. Starts right up on fast idle when it's cold, and kicks down to an idle just as it should when it's warm. We modified the original air cleaner when we installed the Weber, it works excellent and utilizes an OEM filter, which is also new. For those that don't know, this is a Hondamatic, which features a two speed automatic that has to be shifted from first to second gear. First gear to take off, and second gear for above 35mph. Shortly after we got it, we had problems with the first gear so we rebuilt it, and now the transmission works great. Another thing to note, the headlights on this car work amazingly well for the year of the vehicle. The chrome on the bumpers is in very good shape. All the lights have been cleaned, bulbs replaced, and work as they should. Wipers (two speed) and the heater are also fully functional. There is also a nice stereo Sony stereowith CD player. Seats have been reupholstered at some point in time, and are still in pretty good shape. Car has an aftermarket pop-up sunroof with smoked glass that was professionally installed shortly after it was painted, and does not leak. This is a very mechanically sound car that has undergone a ton of work, with that said little Blue is not a freeway flyer,55-60 is the comfortable speed, that is the reason my daughter is selling it,she is missing it already and it isn't even sold, she is headed off to college and needs something that will go freeway speeds and survive in California traffic! This Car gets looks everywhere it goes and is highly visible.
