Description of 1989 Honda Accord |
When I purchased this Honda from Naber Automotive in October. 2011. it had 163. 38 original miles. but I do not recall where the odometer was set when the car physically changed hands and became mine. Prior to the purchase. Terry Naber and his team of mechanics had rebuilt the engine and repaired a few minor eyesores on the body in the places that one would expect to receive the most wear-and-tear from daily use. like around the wheel wells and underside. The list of repairs is documented as such: Remove and replace crankshaft Connecting rod bearings Timing belt Front brakes Cylinder head gasket Change oil and filter Align wheels Balance tires Replace camshaft seal and crankshaft main and front oil seals Oil pan gasket. etc. Clean. sand down old paint Fill low spots Repair some of the dings o Dents in hood o Headlight covers o Front bumper o Rear bumper o All 4 doors o 2 front fenders o 2 rear quarter panels o Deck lid Polish roof of car I had Discount Tire install 4 new General Altimax Arctic tires in December. 2011. when the car had 238. 00 miles on it. The car received a tire rotation. balance check. oil change. chassis lube and fluid check at Tire World in June. 2012 with 245. 46 miles. and again in December. 2012 with 247. 25 miles. In January. 2014 the driver-side rear wheel alignment failed while rolling over a cattle grate on a dirt road (thankfully at about 1 mile per hour!) and needed repair. I had Tire World replace similar worn parts on the rest of the alignment at the same time. The parts list is as follows: Left rear upper control arm with ball joint Right rear upper control arm with ball joint Right front wheel bearing Left front inner tie rod end Right front outer tie rod end Both rear lower rear control arms They also perfected the alignment and performed an oil change and chassis lube service at this time. The car has since returned to the smooth and straight rolling state it has always been in. The car had 249. 03 miles at the time. About 1 month later. I noticed that the muffler was rusting through. I took it to Front Range Muffler and he there replaced the exhaust pipe at the point it attaches to the catalytic convertor and back. including a new muffler. The car had 249. 16 miles when this work was done. Most recently. I took it back to Discount Tire for the rotation/balance/pressure check. I also replaced the aging upper radiator hose and refilled the necessary fluid. Overall. the car is in great shape. It starts every time. the engine runs smooth and quiet. it rolls smooth and straight. all the electronics – power windows and locks. a/c. heat. cruise control. defrost. etc. still work just as they are supposed to with the exception of the antenna being broken and the speakers have decayed and do not function. There is a crack on the lower portion of the windshield. but it doesn't hinder visibility at all. The interior is in immaculate condition. and must be seen to be believed. it truly is that clean and well-maintained. The mileage listed is correct as of the date I entered it. but I do. however. need to use it for light travel on rare occasions. and it will have a few extra miles by the time of purchase. It is not a daily driver. and hasn't been for some time now.
