Original 15k Mile. Original perfect interior. Zero Rust. Newly Refreshed Engine. This Honda S800M coupe was bought new by original owner while stationed in Okinawa. The 2nd owner got it for 5 years. I am the third owner. Originally white. the first owner painted it Orange. The original paint is still underneath. When I purchased it from the 2nd owner. the engine needs a new gasket set. I disassembled the engine and use mirco caliper to measure all tolerances to make sure they are still in specs. This car is truly a 15k mile. Even the piston and cylinder are still very tight and within specs recommended by service manual. So I did not have to change or restore anything. I just honed the cylinder. put in new rings. and assemble the engine with new gasket set. It started on my first crank and runs smooth like a new car. amazing. It was the star at the car & coffee show in irvine. the couple times I drove it there. Doing 90 on the freeway nicely like a modern car. I powerdercoated most engine part silver. except for the engine block itself which is still bare aluminum. There is absolutely zero rust anywhere. It has been in southern california its whole life. There is small spot of bubble around the hinge of the rear hatch as shown in picture. that's it. The original white paint is still underneath. The over spray of orange paint has aged and worn down nicely to create a patina look. People at the show were crazy about patina. Some even forbid me from repaint it. Door gaps are straight like a new car. all chromes are in excellent condition. no dings. no dents. no pitting. The paint in engine bay is the original paint of the car in white. The first owner did not repainted the engine bay. The paint has peel off around the brake cylinder. so I retouched it with matching white paint. Tastefully done without ruining the patina original engine bay paint. There was a heater hole on the firewall. I had soldered it back to original and retouched with matching paint. The entire exhaust manifold down to mufflers are ceramic coated very beautiful. The exhaust system is stainless steel replacement from England. Interior is original. The Dashboard. Gauges. Radio. Glove box. Console. Seat are in perfect condition. not a scratch or tear on them. It was missing 2 original floor mats so I used my Alfa Romeo Red Floor mat. I kind of like that look of red contrast with black. The roof lining is also in perfect condition. no tear. no dirty stain. no peeling off. the two plastic side hump to cover the rear quarter of the car are also in good condition. clean. no crack. look fresh. The carpet lining on the back trunk of the car has a plastic backing that has dried up and fall off over the year. The carpet itself is still in fair condition. Tires are new. Brake are also new and working perfectly. It is my love and joy for the last year. I worked on the engine everyday on the floor of my living room and know the car inside out if you have any question. The engine runs great. but is not fully break in yet. Less than 150 miles since refreshed so it still smoke a little. It is also because the cylinder was honed and I was using standard size piston rings on it so the gap is not that ideal. However. I did confirm that both pistons and cylinders are within recommended specs to accept standard size rings in service manual. It just needs more breaking in. May be another 200 miles.
