Description of 1987 Hummer H1 M998 M1038

Up for your consideration is a 1987 AMG General Utility Truck. This truck was used by fire and rescue and not the U.S Military. The Odometer shows just over 20K miles, Obviously is did more sitting than driving. Unable to start the vehicle because the batteries are dead and there is no Key. I bought this over 4 months ago and just recently took possession of it. It has a diesel engine capable of hundreds of thousands of miles.
It was taking so long to get it (red tape) I bought a newer running (military hummer) and my loss is your gain. It is at my son in-laws in Columbus Georgia and can be seen next weekend. I will be there on August 11th as well and can snap some more pics. I have not gone through the vehicle and not sure what it needs to start. The bumper and winch are missing and there is some fiberglass damage on the driver side.front fender. Vehicle sold "As Is" with Bill Of sale and a SF 97 form may be available for $50. Vin number has been zeroed out for privacy. There are many affordable surplus parts available on eBay now. So you can buy most anything for it. The tires are good and it brakes, steers and rolls.
This is your chance to get a nice non military white hummer, when restored might be worth well over $50K. I've seen rusted out ones go for 20-30K at state auctions in California. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. I'll try my best to answer as I am certainly no Hummer expert.
