Description of 1955 International Harvester Half Ton Pick Up 100 |
Up for auction is this 55 International half ton truck. I’ll start off by saying this truck needs VERY LITTLE rust repair. I’ve pulled the seat bottom out of it and the entire floor is solid. I’ve set the inspection plates in place for the pictures. I would scuff the floor up to clean off the peeled paint and surface rust (very minor) and paint it. The cab is also very solid as well. These trucks almost always need new cab corners. This one does not. The running boards are in excellent shape (very rare). The driver’s side of the roof has a small rust hole at the front corner. I think as far as rust goes that is all that is worth mentioning. Doors are complete and very solid. You’ll see in the pictures that is has a few minor dents and dings here and there. All are very minor, ut I think it is worth pointing out the larger dent in the driver’s side of the cab near the rear window. It is not in the window track, ut is near it. The bed and bed sides are in great shape for an old farm truck. Doesn’t look like it was over worked like some of the beds you see in these old Internationals. Bumpers are there along with the correct brackets. The dash has not been all cut up and seems to be in tact all except for the radio cut out. Original seat and seat base are present and accounted for. All the glass is bad. The original strait 6 is present and complete but it won’t turn over. We bought this truck with the intent of not using the original drive train so wasn’t of a concern. The frame and body are so good that it made sense. But the possibility of an all original truck is there with this truck. Brakes are not working. I haven’t looked at them, ut I imagine the master cylinder and wheel cylinders are dry. The truck rolls and steers like it should so I imagine the brakes will be fine with a little work. My dad decided to get rid of it as he has been looking for a Travelall and finally found one. We are going to restore that instead. I prefer the truck, ut not my decision. Please call me if you have any questions about the truck. If I don't answer, eave a message and I'll call back. I work on a construction site and can't always answer.720-325-3747. Buyer is responsible for shipping, ut I will help in any way I can.
