About the Scout Comanche 800B=============================The last of the 800 series was the800B, vailable for less than eightmonths, rom August 1970 until March1971, efore it was replaced with theScout II. Identical to the 800A otherthan in minor cosmetic details, t wasproduced only until the Scout II wasin production. It can be identified bythe use of chromed rather than matteblack headlight bezels. The 800B was available with theComanche package. This packageincluded special paint and decals, chrome trim, liding travel topwindows, nd other "high dollar"options such as roof racks, hromewheels, nd upgraded interiors. Linetickets of the special package Scouts(and some non-package units) werestamped. After the factory assembles thevehicle and the vehicle is shipped andsold, he Lineticket identifies suchthings as the engine type, transmission type, rive line, aintcodes, ear ratio, nd standard andoptional equipment, pecific to thatvehicle. This was and still is a veryvaluable tool when ordering partslater at the dealership by thecustomer. Late in 1970 the Sno-Starpackage appeared (only with the six-cylinder engine), eveloped especiallyfor snow plow usage.
