Description of 1955 International Harvester Other RC162 COE |
For sale is my completely restored International Harvester cab over 160 series 2 ton truck with a straight flatbed. Every nut and bolt has been examined, urned or replaced. Truck is an original, ow mile Colorado truck that currently has 1567 (ish) miles on it. Just completed a 500 mile round trip through Colorado! This is an original truck, ot a hot rod, o if that's what you're looking for, eep on looking. It received a new motor in 1959 and they decided to put the new V8 that they were developing for their heavier truck line into it. It has a 266 CI V8 what has less than 50K miles on it originally. It runs well, ut with solid lifters, t makes a little noise. I wouldn't hesitate to drive across the country in it, owever, s long as you are ok with the top speed of 60mph. The transmission is the original T98 four speed manual sending power to a two speed rear end. That's right, ou have to learn how to drive an old electric shift two speed to drive this! Its a blast and makes going over steep hills with heavy loads a piece of cake! This truck has hauled my other 7000lb flatbed truck on the back of it over two 11,000 ft passes and didnt even break a sweat or build any heat. (No land speed records were broken in the process, ut it made it all the same). The engine has been upgraded with a newer Carb and an electric fuel pump. It gets a steady 10mpg... uphill...downhill...or in traffic. Everything works the way it should. The interior has been completely redone with marine grade vinyl for the seats and linex on the floor and kick panels to minimize heat and noise. CB radio is installed and tuned and is great for when EVERY trucker on the road wants to tell you how much they love the truck! No radio was originally installed in this truck, ut the panel is there and it could easily be done. Wheels are the newer style lock ring and can be changed, nlike the original widow-makers that these came with. Wheels are powder coated to match the paint scheme and the tires are new 8.25/20's. There is a tool box underneath the bed to carry your lunch and lawn chair for every car show and a 90 gallon aluminum fuel tank on the opposite side to allow you to drive anywhere you want to go! It fills through the main tank, o it is a true auxiliary tank with its own fuel gauge sender. The bed is NOT A ROLLBACK. It is permanently bolted to the double thick frame by eight massive Ubolts. It has been fitted with tongue and groove douglas fir decking. And the Bulldozer on the back comes with it! It can easily carry a car or other pickup, ut you would need a loading dock to load yours on the back of it. Pictures speak a thousand words on this truck and the finish will more than win your next car show. Please ask any questions you may have! Thanks so much for looking. Happy bidding, s the reserve is extremely reasonable. |
