Description of 1964 International Harvester Other

1964 INTERNATIONAL TRAVELETTE C1200 – ALL WHEEL DRIVE I have decided to put one of my 1964 C1200 Travelettes up for auction. This one is all wheel drive. It is NOT a garage queen or show truck at all. I’m pretty sure this has been a lifelong Wyoming ranch truck. It hasn’t been tagged since 1994. It probably hasn’t been on any highway since then. It had been sitting a while when I purchased it because the starter had gone out. I had the starter rebuilt and it fired right up as it runs on propane (a fuel that does not go bad and gum up carburetors. It runs like a champ. 40-50 psi oil pressure and NO unusual noise in the engine. It idles great and revs great. I also rebuilt the clutch/brake master cylinder and flushed all the lines and bled the system. so the clutch and brakes work good for a 50 year old truck with no booster system. It has a 304 V8 engine. 4 speed transmission and 4. 09 differential ratio. It does have some rust in the normal IH places; front fenders. front floor boards (driver side is bad and will need to be patched or replaced. the passenger side isn’t as bad). little in the cowel area and the bottom ends of the bed caps. However. the underneath of the truck is really clean in the sense it has never been on any salty roads. The seats need some covers over them or need to be recovered because the vinyl is cracked. Drivers' side doors window glass is cracked. Front windshield also has crack. I hope all this is visible in pics. All the tires hold air. but the 4 mud grips are pretty old Goodyears and do have weather cracking. Not safe for highway speeds. The gasoline system does not appear to have been used in a long time. If you wanted to run the truck on gasoline. you would probably need to rebuild the 2 bbl Holley and clean the tank. It runs great on propane. I have the 59 gallon propane tank out of the bed in the pictures as it was empty since someone had left the valves open. I am running the truck on my garage heater stand up bottle right now. I’m going to take the propane tank from the truck to our propane dealer to see if they will put some fuel in it. Not sure if they will because the gauge is broken on the tank. If they won’t. I will put the empty tank in the truck and also put a small 20 lb bottle in the bed to run the truck for loading and unloading on the transport trailer. The buyer can get the big tank filled or can ran a forklift type tank. or might even decide to switch back to gasoline. The truck should definitely be completely serviced before a lot of driving is done. such as all gear boxes’ oil changed and such. The tail lights and turn signals are not working. It has a PTO Koeing winch on the front. but the gear box case is broken and is in the tool box. The PTO runs off of the transfer case. It does have a little turning radius issue. It will not turn all the way to the steering stops. I’m pretty sure the closed steering knuckles need to be serviced with new grease. The steering gear box feels fine. but it has limited turning radius. especially to the right. The truck shows 66. 15 miles and the speedometer works great. Because of that and the engine running as good as it does. I’m pretty sure this is probably the actual miles. but the title shows mileage “exempt” and so I can’t prove it. The truck has been repainted a long time ago at least once and could definitely use some new paint. Keep in mind that it had been a work truck and not babied at all. Anyway. this is just a really cool old Wyoming ranch Travelette. all-wheel drive C1200. It even has an old west leather pistol holster bolted to the left inside kick panel by the emergency brake handle. I’m selling this Travelette to fix up my other Travelette (just can’t keep 2. as much as I’d like to). If you'd like to see it run please go to youtube and search "1964 IH Travelette running on propane". I can't figure out how to get the link to work. I can take more pics of anything on the truck you’d like to see. or answer any question you might have. I can store it in my back yard for a month or two after full payment is made if prior arrangements are made. No charge for that. I can recommend a couple of transporters if needed I will have a very reasonable reserve for such a rare old truck. Bid with confidence. IF YOU ARE A ZERO FEEDBACK OR LOW FEEDBACK (under 5) DO NOT BID WITHOUT CONTACTING ME FIRST. YOUR BID WILL BE CANCELLED. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS ABOUT PURCHASING. Winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of auction end and make arrangements for payment at that time. A $500. 00 non-refundable deposit is due via PayPal within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 7 days of auction end. Payments accepted are cash. certified bank cashier's check or wire transfer. Truck will not leave my possession until funds have cleared my bank.
