This is a neat old cornbinder travelall with a very nice body. There are not very many of these travelalls around and this one is optioned with A/C, utomatic transmission, ower steering, nd power brakes. Most IHC vehicles from this era were rode hard. They normally have 4-speeds also and no options. This travelall appears to have been a commuter type vehicle and not a work rig. The body is nearly perfectly straight and the only rust is in the tailgate. Here are the details on this IHC. This would be a great travelall to restore and you can have something that can haul the family, ow, nd in generall be a usefull classic if needed. This would look great restored, ith a small lift maybe, r? All the pics I've looked at, hey look good restored in any way. It does have a clear title also. Thanks and happy bidding. Feel free to contact me with questions. I have many more pics in a link I can send also.
BODY
The body is really nice for an un-restored original '68. The only rust-through is in the outer tailgate lower skin. The tailgate jam and bottom of the tailgate look fine from what I can see. I did not open the tailgate though. I did not even put a battery in it and try it. I had mechanical problems with my truck so I had to leave this travelall at storage I have not had time to go back and check to see if the rear window does roll down. There is no other rust-through besides the tailgate. The roof, riprails, illars, ams, oors, loors, rame, ood, enders, uarter, owl, irewall header, argo area, tc. all look nice with no rust-through showing, o bubbles, o sign of any paint/collision work, o bondo. There is a travelall emblem included that had is not on the body in the pics. The rear side trim on the drivers side is gone. This is a great body to start with or clean it up and use it as it. With a lift and some nice rims it would look cool anyways. I think it would look good with just original hubcaps on it.
MECHANICAL
This travelall has a 345 V8. I'm sure it is most likely the original engine but I have checked any numbers or anything. Everything looks original and un-molested. The carburetor is gone of the engine. I have not tried to turn the motor over. This has factory or dealer installed a/c. It is complete but the belt is off the compressor. This has the automatic transmission. The drivetrain looks complete and 4x4 components all there. It has power steering and brakes. I would guess just by looking at it that it may run with some work but I can't say how much work.
INTERIOR
The interior is original and complete. I'll let the pics do the talking. It needs restored but the seat springs are fine. The headliner is complete but a couple of the panels have fell out. They are included and are in good shape and aren't broken. All doors open/shut. The rear window may work but I have not tried it. The window is electric and needs to be rolled down before you can open the rear door. I may be able to test this before the auction is over.
OVERALL
This is a neat old travelall and a good one to start with for a restoration. I've included more pics of nice travelalls so you can see the potential. Thanks, nd please read payment instructions.
