Description of 1969 International Harvester Scout 800A |
This is a 1969 800/A Automatic transmission (rare), x4. Dual gas tanks. Super fun for the beach or back roads and an adventure on freeways. Great candidate to be converted to a rock crawler. Engine is solid (strong 304 V8) and fires right up Original certified net HP 180 @ 4400 RPM Drives straight 4 brand new (burly) tires, F Goodrich all Terrain T/ANice rims Automatic transmission Rhino lined tub (stripped to bare metal first, o rust!) Drains installed in tub Front of driver side seat box cut away to install lock box or stereo Original seats (drivers, slight tears), assenger seat perfect Original bench seat pads and dash pad in perfect condition Back bench seat (copy from Scoutparts.com, ot upholstered yet) Some light rust at the front of roof and a good amount on the rain rail about 3" Tailgate and hatch work well New glove box (Scoutparts) New heater/vent air hoses New window regulator (windows still need adjustment/work) Newer guides and felt Recent brake job (front shoes, heel cylinders, aster cylinder brake line and rear wheel cylinder) Recent transmission re-furb. New starter solenoid New alternator New head gasket Carb rebuild (Holley) New spark plug wires New radiator New fuel pump New float and sensor in one of the dual tanks Two 10lbs tanks Wiring needs work. Dash lights are intermittent Rear lights, ight front turn indicator need work Very light surface rust on body in a few spots (small section of Bondo, ront right quarter panel) 40,250 on the odometer (but who knows?) Needs old school radio Garaged for last 10 years Bought from a car enthusiast Could use a new paint job but looks tough as is Compliments every time it is driven Fun to work on by yourself, ith a buddy or a young person (you can still learn and figure it out) Shifter should be switched as it is not original Scout shifterCould use passenger side mirror Our mechanic down the street can answer many questions. This Scout has been a blast to own but it is now time for my wife and I to travel. I have taken this car a long way and now it is your turn to take it the rest of the way, ut it is drivable now. I drove it 30 miles to work to take the pictures. This is a 46 year old truck with some bumps and bruises yet it still has game left (as many of us older guys do) Will sell to "in states" buyer only Buyer to pay for pick up or transportation. |
