For your consideration IH International Harvester lovers, s a nice old 1966 C1100 rear wheel drive truck.First of all you should know this truck is rust free and it's a great foundation to do a shop truck build, r just a cruiser. Most of its needs will be mechanical, ot cosmetic. If you're looking for a barn find with a cool story, his is pretty close. This truck was purchased last in 1973 where it remained in North Carolina and used as a commercial farm truck. The owner decided to have a fresh paint job put on in 1989 and promptly parked it inside his garage as a future gift for his grandson. When his grandson turned 16, om didn't approve of the vehicle choice, nd sadly the truck stayed in storage. 1989 was the last year it was registered and driven. 27 years later the truck is in need of some attention but it is much too nice to let it sit any longer. The original 266 v8 does run strong and the three speed column shifter feels like it should. The original glass bowl fuel pump was leaking, o it was replaced with an updated version. Now the carburetor is showing its age by seeping fuel and is in need of a rebuild. The gas tank seems solid but it is not hooked up. I'd recommend dropping it down and checking inside before connecting it. It sounds empty which is a good sign for rust not being present. The brake master cylinder and clutch master cylinder share the same reservoir, nd is probably in need of a replacement or rebuild, ame with the slave cylinder. Also the brakes need to be gone through as they are binding and haven't been used in 27 years.Other things of note, he doors don't always catch or close correctly but they do line up right. The door glass on each side is cracked but staying in place. The bench seat has the typical bolster tear. The body is straight and true. All the original spot welds that showed on the bed sides from the factory are still there, ot covered in bondo. The bed is solid, nd looking underneath it is dry and structurally sound. The grill is perfect, he lights and bezels and trim all appear to be there. After sitting for all those years there isn't any rust bubbling back, he body looks consistent with how the paint would have been in 1966.Included is a set of brake shoes for one axle, he original glass bowl fuel pump that could be rebuilt, nd if you're looking to do a period correct restoration I can throw in the oil bath air filter that would have come on it. It has a spare, nd four matching hub caps, lus an IH stamped hub cap for the spare tire.If you have any questions please ask. I'm hoping someone out there is looking for a truck just like this. They just aren't that easy to locate in this condition. It is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early.
