Description of 1976 International Harvester Scout |
I have a 1976 International Scout II for sale. I bought this truck about a year and a half ago but never got to put any work into it because I got another project car around the same time. Here's what I know about the truck: - It runs. It's been sitting for the winter, so it will need to be jumped. - As far as I know, the 4WD works, but I've never tried it. Can't say for sure. - Transmission seems fine - forward and reverse both work. Again, not sure about the 4WD.It stalls in reverse. - It has a new battery and a new alternator which were installed recently. - There is NO top. A new top costs about $800. -The passenger side seat belt needs to be replaced. It pulled out of the floor. - Right now it runs very rough. It probably needs a fuel filter and general tune up. Can't say for sure. - The electrical needs work. - The previous owner closed the passenger side door to make it a panel car. I'm guessing this was because the hinges and door were rusted but I don't know. You can see it in the pictures. There is NO passenger side door. This truck is a project. The truck has rust and will need work to get it into reliable running condition. It looks like the previous owner tried to do some body work. It is NOT driveable over any type of distance. I've driven it to the garage and back (about a mile or two away) but unless you're VERY local, it will need to be towed to it's destination. Let me know if you have any other questions. NOTE: if you win the auction full payment will be due within 3 days of auction end and the truck MUST BE REMOVED within 5 days of auction end. |
