Description of 1979 International Harvester Scout

This 1979 International Scout II is fresh from a no-expense-spared restoration. Clad in Emerald Green Poly with a matte black Rallye stripe kit. paint quality is excellent and all panels are very straight with good gaps and door alignment. Glass. trim and all seals and weatherstripping are in great shape; soft top is brand new. Custom front and rear bumpers have integrated hitch receivers; tail lights. turn signals and side markers are fitted with smoked lenses for an aggressive but tasteful blacked out look. A lift and 33x12. 50 tires on alloy wheels give this Scout a great stance. The interior shows well with new carpet. Corbeau front seats and a locking Tuffy center console. A Kenwood multimedia head unit is mounted in the center console with an amp beneath the rear seat; speakers are hanging from the family-style roll cage -- the stereo sounds great. Three-point seat belts secure front passengers with lap belts in the rear; power windows have been installed in the doors. and they work well. Under the hood is a fully rebuilt IH 345 cubic inch V8 mated to an automatic transmission. Upgrades include stainless steel headers. an aluminum intake and an aluminum radiator. The truck is fitted with power steering and power disc brakes; the brake booster and master cylinder are new and all service is up to date. The engine compartment is very nicely detailed. The truck runs and drives well; the suspension is well set up with a professionally installed spring-over lift and correct steering geometry. In short. this truck is nicely restored. both mechanically and cosmetically. and is in turn-key condition for its next owner to enjoy.
