Description of 1963 International Harvester Other |
1963 International 220 POWERHOUSE! 2-1/2 ton truck, flatbed with a utility crane (very old hyd + electric winch). Has a screaming Jimmy(runs at about 3400rpm), DetroitV6-53blown 2 stroke, with an over/under browning box, and 5 spd trans (15spd) and Air brakes. I towed a 12,000lbs boat and trailer back and forth 10-12 miles each trip, every other weekendfor about three years. Never had a problem. This is a very capable work truck, NOT a show vehicle. However probably gets more looks than anything out there. VERY LOUD exhaust. Has two newer batteries, new fuel filter, new LED tail lights, locking pentel hook with 2 5/16 ball, has a battery isolation switch, and a diesel fuel pump out. RUNS like a champ. THIS RIG IS BAD ASS! This a great rolling billboard, put your business name on the door. In the last pic, I am just showing that it will except military rims and tires. 2" lift block in the front & shackle flip in the rear. GREAT LOOK. But these do not come with it. Heres a quick video. Phone was about out of memory, so had to hurry. https://youtu.be/eK3xtLY6BHQ Contact me if you'd like 530-440-5553 Kevin. In this new video, you'll see the truck fire up cold (bout a week since last fire up). The louvers on the grill close at about 55 sec in(that happens at about 60psi). Then I run though sec and third gear, and when I am backing up. I hit all the browning gears. Notice the hyd assist steering works great. NEW VIDEO - https://youtu.be/QyqPnVgyaLw THE RUFF- Very straight, but has rust under the wind screen, some in both lower corners, not terrible, just noticeable. I just bondoed over them. I live in CA, so lasted a long time, andits a working truck, so did not matter to me. The last time it got towed by a transport company it got the air horn ripped off, and a chip in the wind screen. Air horn can befixed easy. My location is good for a big rig to come get this, so shipping is made a little easier. Tach stopped working, ILL JUST PUT IT LIKE THIS. THIS TRUCK IS A GREAT RUNNING DRIVING WORK TRUCK, THAN NEEDS RESTORAITION. FURTHER READING- I bought this from a very respected Detroit diesel shop in Ventura, CA 5 years ago. This shop has been there since 1952. The gentleman I bought it from (owner) has had it since the early 1970's. Hetold me a story about why the cab looks so much older than a 1963. Apparentlyin WW11 International was contracted to make a shit ton of these. Well then the war ended and the government did not want them anymore. So International just put all the cabs in a warehouse and whenever one was bought (over the next 30yrs), they would issues a title with that year. |
