Description of 1961 International Harvester Scout 80 |
1961 International Scout 80 4X4 twin stick nut and bolt restoration This scout came form California with under 6k mileage the CA title states actual mileage. Key Design items on the Scout 80 Removable doors Removable top Fold forward down windshield I have done a complete nut and bolt restoration with upgraded doors to roll up windows. The PPG Base Coat / Clear Coat Paint is fresh International Red with White half-cab, I have installed stainless steel inserts if someone wanted to run the full top design. When body was off and scout was totally disassembled the bottom of body the scout had very little rust being form California but there was a small section 8”x10 that was cut and replaced with new metal. I have maintained to keep this as original as possible. This is a Concourse style restoration not just a frame off restoration. The original steel dual gas tanks have been cleaned and preserved with POR-15 many of the original bolts with the IH stamp in the heads have been maintained and reused. The engine slant 4 192ci was in good shape with respect to ring grove and bearing clearances, so new gaskets and paint and freeze plugs was all that was required. All Bearings in transmission, transfer case and wheels and axles have been replaced all new seals on transmission and axles. New clutch and pressure plate all U-Joints new shocks. Brake system completely new master cylinder, lines are nickel plated copper, new wheel cylinders, brake shoes and drums are new as well. The Seats have ben recovered in tan luscious leather, which was not an option, but I am not a fan of vinyl looks cheap and does not last so upgraded to leather. There is a ton of time, money and love in this build. I have over 1,800 man-hours was building this for my wife and cut no corners anywhere if there is a better quality 1961 Scout out there that is the near the original I have not seen it. What is not stock? Upgraded doors to roll up doors Upgraded aluminum radiator Dual tank selector with dual sending units for fuel tanks As is no warranty all payments due in 7 days after auction Deposit is no refundable Call Mike (203)733-3112 Additional pictures at shutterfly pix.sfly.com/F0_-c-D1 pix.sfly.com/XkDvJvDX pix.sfly.com/6pe8Z4hs |
