Description of 1957 International Harvester Metro |
This is the one everyone is looking for! The true short 102" wheelbase "Shorty" IH Metro. This is a restoration project. This van DOES NOT RUN but the engine turns and is not seized. With that being said...It is complete and the original drive train is intact but most people that restore these put the body on a late model Chevy truck chassis for the safety, reliabilityandaccess to available parts. If you have been looking for a Metro you already know how hard they are to find! You can see restored Metros currently on eBay for $50k to $100k and they aren't even the shorty model!!!!! The body is pretty straight but it will need some rust repair in the usual places but nothing too difficult for those with basic sheet metal working skills. This van has unlimited potential and could be restored for a fraction of the cost of buying one already done. If you would like us to restore and custom build this van to suit your business needs, we can give you a quote to build it into exactly what you want. These Metro vans are getting harder and harder to find (especially the short ones) and are going up in value every day! If you have any questions feel free to call me. 714-290-3130 Robert If you have less than 10 feedback, have any negative feedback or have had any unpaid items in the past 12 months please contact me before bidding otherwise your bids will be deleted. This van has a clear title and is located in Orange County CA. We can assist with shipping and I have a few reliable shippers I have used in the past if you need any recommendations. |
