Description of 1970 Plymouth Barracuda

Original 1970 ‘cuda 340. 4 speed. EK2 “Vitamin C” orange. 15x7 steel wheels. Manual steering and brakes. Black interior. console and tinted glass. Standard dash cluster. Original build sheet and fender tag. Export car probably ordered by a serviceman overseas. Service replacement block. original trans and rear axle. I restored this car. I have been restoring mopars for nearly 20 years. This one needed some serious TLC to make right again but it got everything it needed. It has been driven a couple hundred miles since completion last year - both for enjoyment and to get everything working right. Car had been hit early in its life and restored very poorly. I fixed everything that was rusted bent or otherwise in need of attention. Body went on a frame bench prior to final body and paint and was found within spec. both rear quarters replaced. Trunk floor was replaced but the original trunk extensions remain. The front driver and passenger floors had the foot well areas replaced. Doors and deck lid are original to car. Hood. fenders. valance and radiator support are OEM but were replaced during its earlier repairs. All body panel gaps nice. Service replacement block dated 1970. All the peripherals on the motor are dated correct for the original motor (heads. manifolds. intake. carb). The car had a ’68 340 block in it when I got it. I obtained a service replacement 340 block locally which was bored . 030 when rebuilt. Cam is a stock 340 purple shaft. Heads had hardened exhaust seats installed. Correct 4933S AVS carb with anti diesel solenoid. Water pump is dated 1970 which was sent out for rebuild. Alternator is dated for a ’70 car as is the starter… they could be original to the car… especially the starter which appears to have never been rebuilt. Trans and differential rebuilt. Everything is new or rebuilt/restored. Used all original type hardware. All stainless was professionally polished (except for door belt stainless which is new). Windshield new. All other glass original to the car. New Accurate exhaust throughout with NOS tips. Correct radiator. Wiper motor restored by the late. great restoration artist Jules Daddio. -Clutch assy is Centerforce. - 489 sure-grip rebuilt – 3:23 gears. -New brakes. brake components and bearings. -OEM leaf springs rebuilt. -PPG base/clear paint. Straight panels throughout. -New. complete grill assy -Correct style 15x7 steel wheels. I had these made to ensure the proper look for this factory setup. -Goodyear Polyglas GT tires – proper original size (E60-15) -Original style battery. radiator. air cleaner. carb. wiper motor. hoses. finishes and reverse lockout linkage. -Manual steering box rebuilt. all rubber bushings for an original feeling and quieter ride. All suspension components new. -Correct jack assy. correct style space saver spare with bracket and bottle. -Proper interior detailing. correct 1970. 4 speed console. original dash core restored. Very nice original steering wheel with much of the original finish in place. AM radio restored. -All wiring replaced except for dash harness which was inspected and found in good original shape. -Seats completely rebuilt. frames cleaned/painted new foam. stuffing and covers. New plastic backs. -Seat belts restored using new material and proper coded tags. -Original black interior door panels are nice. There are a couple blemishes on them but overall very good. I have a photo library of entire restoration. Only things on car that are not on buildsheet are the clock. hockey stick stripes and the sure-grip assy (car was originally a single leg rear). This is a very nicely done ‘cuda that needs no work. It is ready for driving and enjoying now. Have clear WA State Title.
