Description of 1978 International Harvester Scout |
I am selling my beloved 1978 International Scout II, due to a need for more garage space (my wife's idea, not mine). 5.7L 345 v8. This has a 6 inch lift, good tires, and starts up and runs easily with no problems. The seats have been swapped out for some leather seats from a land rover. The motorized seats even work. The front driver and passenger seats could use a cover, but the back ones are in good condition. Newer black carpet throughout. Within the last 3 months, any body rust was sanded down and treated, and the truck was given a professional paint job in a factory original color. LOVE this color. Softopper works perfectly and is easy to take off and put back on. The car does need seat belts. I just haven't had the time to bolt any new ones in, but that's easy. This truck has a new WORKING gas gauge, which is extremely rare on Scouts. Plenty of recent work to keep this bad boy running smoothly. Some of the more recent work includes: new carb, new radiator hose, new fuel pump, professional paint job, new alternator drive belt, new power steering drive belt, new battery, valve cover gaskets, new starter. Any and all leaks that the mechanic could find were fixed, so this truck will barely ever drip. Basically, since I've owned it, if something was needed, I had the mechanic take care of it. No DIY work. I've always babied and loved driving this Scout around, and so has the whole family. It purs just right, and has never left us stranded. Feel free to ask any questions and Ill do my best to answer them. |
