What I was told about the truck when I bought it: The truck was said to have been purchased new by the Civil Air Patrol for use at an airfield in northern Illinois. It may have changed hands more than once after that, finally ending its active service life in 1962 in Elliott, Illinois, with what was then a volunteer fire department. I do not know the working condition of the pump or how water tight the tank is. I had it delivered to my home on a flatbed, drove it off into my driveway, and there's where it's sat for a year under a tarp. I have not tried to start it this year and am sure the batteries would need a charge. The booster reel is in the bed, the previous owner had it off for height so it would fit in his garage. Extinguishers and brackets for them do not go with the truck. The passenger side of the front bumper bracket is cracked and bent. Please see pictures for details of the vehicle. You are highly encouragedto inspect the vehicle before purchasing as all sales are final. It has many defects as it is a unique antique which is over 84 years old, price reflects that.
