Description of 1973 International Harvester Other 1310 |
Vintage California Truck. NO SMOG NEEDED IN CA. . with clear Pink Slip in hand. This is a very unique duly truck with only 37. 00 original miles. When ordered it was a special-order truck that was delivered to Fresno State University. I have the line setting ticket (build sheet). This truck was a work vehicle and the condition of this one is testimony to that fact. One look at the original floor mat and you can tell it has been used with care. This is truly a rare truck. It drives smoothly down the road with no drift or play in the steering wheel. The 4 speed transmission shifts as it should and downshifts as normal. The newly-upholstered bench seat gives you a lot more support than other trucks with the standard bench seat. so it is very comfortable even during long trips. The seat is fabric in the center with vinyl on the perimeter areas. It went through a little restoration about one year ago and I had a nice paint job done on it and I installed a bottom toolbox under the bed. I replaced the bed wood with trailer decking Solid Shiplap Apitong. I fabricated a spare tire mount under the bed. as well. Stan's Headers were installed and the rest of the exhaust is a 2-into-1 system and exits in front of the rear right tires. A new headliner was installed and autometer gauges were installed under the dash (vacuum. water temperature. oil psi. . volts). Also. a wideband air/fuel ratio monitor was mounted on the steering column as well as a GPS speedometer/tachometer combo. The truck came to me with an electric fuel pump so I installed a bigger one (a Holly Red) to stop any vapor lock action. I also put on a new Holly two barrel carburetor with a manual choke. The ignition was topped off with a Pertronix Ignitor II in the distributor and I removed the points and installed new plugs and 8mm MSD plug wires. Additionally. I installed a new power-steering pump and hoses. The radiator was redone with 3-row high-efficiency tubes and also for the cooling system new hoses and a heating core were installed. The gentleman I purchased it from had obtained the truck from an auction at Fresno State University and he had to redo the back freeze plug and rebuild the front and rear brakes. When I put in a new clutch (turned the pressure plate. throwout bearing. rebuilt the 3-piece drive shaft) in November 2014. it all looked good behind the motor. The glass is all original except it has a new windshield and windshield rubber. The back glass has had professionally-installed the darkest window tint available. When the university ordered the truck in 1973. they wanted it installed with a school bus braking system which consists of a large vacuum reservoir. a vacuum gauge. and a warning light to warn the operator of low vacuum level. I have upgraded the vacuum gauge and warning light. I have driven this truck for hours and it runs smoothly and shifts perfectly. The doors both open and close with ease and have that solid sound when closing unique to these trucks. All gauges work except the temperature gauge in the dash because the sender space was used for the autometer gauge. Everything else works: wipers. all lights and blinkers. I installed new LED lights under the bed and new LED tail and stop lights. The truck originally had a radio delete in it but I have installed a nice new radio with CD player and installed speakers in the doors. The truck is pretty much stock with the exception of headers and muffler that exit through a single exhaust. The wheels are not the original split rims that came with the truck. I purchased seven new wheels and new 235/85R16 tires immediately after I bought this truck. A front bumper was made for the 12. 00 lb. electric winch that comes with a wireless winch remote control as well as a cable control. Defects: This is a short restoration. but the truck is very solid. I took pictures to show the beauty of this truck. There are original fade marks and some cracking in the floor mat but I wanted to leave it in its present condition so the buyer could see the actual age and patina of the truck. The dash pad also has some cracks so I put a dash cover on it. The rear end is in very good shape but is a 4:87 gear ratio for hauling. The liftgate could use some sanding and fresh paint. The large second fuel tank on the driver's side does not have a sender or gauge to tell how much fuel is in that tank. The truck handles and drives as new being the best driving and handling vintage dualie I have ever had the pleasure of driving. and I have driven many over the years. This is the rarest 1310 I have ever seen with the 14' flatbed and lift gate. It is not "show quality" but very very presentable and would make a nice parade truck as well. I am not a smoker and I've never allowed anyone to smoke in it. and I am not a dealer but do love these trucks. I am a straight shooter so feel free to ask questions. No one else in the country will have one like it! Thanks for your interest and good luck bidding! |
