Description of 1974 International Harvester Scout |
1974 International Scout II Cab-Top 4x4 Manual w/ AMC 258. I bought this as a dream truck back in 2019. I've loved the truck and have gotten it to be quite the easy driver around the city. I have a relatively short commute so have been able to daily drive it at times and have no issues. The brakes need a refresh this year and the front diff has a leak, but otherwise doesn't burn oil. Living in Miami, I've had a difficult time finding a mechanic to work on the truck and due to work moves have been unable to have any work space myself. The body is in good shape, but will need some attention in the next year or so. The PO did some pretty sketchy repairs on the two cab mounts but I haven't had the chance to correct and haven't noticed any issues spring from them. The engine/trans combo in this will run forever. I hate to see it go, but it's not a great fit for where I am in life. Happy to answer any questions that you may have or share further photos. I am open to offers, but am pricing off some general Hagerty's valuations and what I've seen in the market. I'm still trying to find a mechanic for some of the basic maintenance items if it does not sell. ............................. Mod/Repair list - Purchased in March 2019. I've probably missed some small things. Went into the shop May 2019 to:1) convert existing SOA 6 inch lift back down to a SUA 4 inch2) rebuild Holley carb3) clean-up engine bay and extensive overhaul of wiring harness to correct PO mistakes Blew a driveshaft u-joint in November 2019 that damaged rear yoke. Replaced slip yoke, new driveshaft.Regeared to 4.10 with Detroit True Trac LSD in the rear. Installed GRC Fabrication Front and Rear Swingout January 2020. Replaced existing Warn locking hubs and front brake calipers February 2020. T-19 transmission dropped and rebuilt. New clutch disk and pressure plate installed. May 2020 Installed RetroSound Bluetooth radio with new speaker, new firewall pad, tachometer. September 2021 |
