Description of 1947 Jaguar |
1947 JAGUAR SS 1.5 LITER SALOONTHESE CARS WERE ALSO BUILT BEFORE WW2, ND CONTINUED AFTER. THEY WERE BUILT WITH 3 DIFFERENT ENGINE SIZES. THE 1.5, .5 AND 3.5 LITERS. THE ENGINE WAS BUILT BY STANDARD. THIS WAS BEFORE JAGUAR DESIGNED AND BUILT THEIR OWN ENGINES. THE INTERIOR COULD USE SEAT UPHOL., nbsp;CARPET, nbsp;AND HEADLINER... ALL THE WOOD IN THE INTERIOR IS VERY NICE! I WAS JUST PLANNING A COSMETIC RESTORATION TO GET HER BACK ON THE ROAD. I HAVE EVERYTHING LOOSE UP FRONT READY TO REMOVE THE ENGINE. (IT'S LOCKED UP) WHEN I GOT THE CAR THE SPARKPLUGS WERE OUT..... I HAVE HAD ATF SOAKING FOR THE PAST YEAR. HAVE NOT TRIED TO TURN THE MOTOR LATELY. PULLED THE DIFF COVER AND ALL LOOKED WELL. I HAVE STARTED THE RESTORATION OF MANY PARTS... REAR SHOCKS REBUILT, SPARE RIM SANDBLASTED AND POWDERCOATED, 4 RIMS MOUNTED ON THE CAR WERE JUST SANDBLASTED AND PAINTED, BUMPERS HAVE BEENRE-CHROMED, BUMPER BRACKETS SAND BLASTED AND RE-PAINTED, BRAKE DRUMS SANDBLASTED AND PAINTED, ARIOUS OTHER SMALL PARTS AS WELL. I REMOVED THE REAR LICENSE PLATE HOLDER AND RESTORED IT. STILL WORKING ON THE TAIL LIGHTS. GAS TANK WAS REMOVED CLEANED AND COATED THEN REINSTALLED WITH NEW FILLER HOSE. REAR SHOCKS REBUILT. HAS MECHANICAL BRAKES THAT WORK. I HAVE NOT HOOKED A BATTERY UP TO CHECK THE ELECTRICS. HAVE SOME NEW HOSES AND MISC. THINGS ASWELL.... CURRENTLY GETTING READY TO PULL THE ENGINE... HAD THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD REPAIRED, nbsp;AND CERAMIC COATED, AD THE ROCKER ASSY REBUILT, HAD THE CARB. REBUILT, HE DISTRIBUTOR REBUILT, THE GENERATORISAS WELL.... PREVIOUS OWNER HAD ALL THE CHROME RE DONE TO COPPER! IN DIRE NEED OF POLISHING... I THINK THIS WAS DONE IN THE 70'S.... THE ENGINE PICTURE SHOWS THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND THEEXHAUST ON THE ENGINE... BUT IT HAS BEEN REMOVED. I DID NOTICE SOME RUST IN THE LOWER DRIVERS DOOR AND SOME AT THE LOWER REAR OF THE CAR. I AM 200 MILES AWAY FROM THE CAR SO I CANNOT GET ANY MORE PICTURES AT THE MOMENT. CAR IS IN SANTA MARIA, A.SOLD AS IS WHERE IS..... CAN BE VIEWED BY APPT. |
