1989 Jaguar XJS Convertible DESCRIPTION: This Jaguar XJS is a low mile example turned out in Brilliant red with an excellent tan interior and black top. According to previous owner and supported by a Stellar CARFAX, he car is accident free and has never had an damage repairs or paint work. The top is excellent in Black Hartz canvas with a hard backlite. The interior shows no signs of wear, nywhere. The dash top, ood facia and console, lass, nstruments, tc are all what one might expect from a low mile example. Everything on the car functions as is should. The inflatable lumbar supports in the seat, ncluded. Mechanically, he car is very sound. The V12 engine has recently had its service runs very well. The transmission shifts well and does not slip of leak. The brakes are excellent, he exhaust system integrity is very good and the differential is quiet with no strange sounds or leaks. HISTORY & PROVENANCE:This ultra-low mileage XJS was sold new by Wilde Jaguar of Greenfield, I in August of 1988. The first owner of this highly optioned sports car was Edward B. Saltz, successful entrepreneur and business man. On top of that, r. Saltz was also an inventor who had several patents to his name ranging back to the 1950s. Mr. Saltz had run his own companies since the 1950s and by the time he bought the XJS, etirement was near. When Mr. and Ms. Saltz moved to Scottsdale, Z, here their son was living, he XJS moved with them. Mr. Saltz enjoyed the XJS until he passed away in 1993, utting less than 10,000 miles on the car during those years. It stayed in the family until 2009 when a new Arizona owner acquired the car and continued to care for it. RECENT SERVICE HISTORY:Over the last 12 months, lose to $4,000 were spent on mechanical upgrades and repairs, nsuring the performance and reliability of this XJS. The tires and brakes are new. The water pump and several hoses were replaced within the last six months. The four Pirellis have less than 5,000 miles on them and should give the new owner many more miles of service. The soft top mechanicals operate smoothly and the soft top appears like new. The mirror shine of the chromed Jaguar factory wheels belie their age and are without any curb rash or scratches. SUMMARY: The V12 starts up on the first crank and runs evenly and strongly through all rev ranges. The transmission shifts smoothly and without hesitation. As you would expect with an ultra low mileage car, he interior is in extraordinary shape. The leather and wood exhibit only the most minute flaws. The period correct high-end built-in radar detector still works great and indicates any speed trap ahead of it. The original Jaguar stereo with cassette deck works beautifully and some easy listening audio tape cassettes will come with the vehicle. This is a great collector vehicle, nd a rare one at that. With only 3,175 built in 1988, t is a unique car and you probably will not encounter another one like it.
