Description of 1962 Jaguar Other |
1962 Jaguar Mark II- This car is from Savannah. Georgia and is an excellent candidate for a restoration. Somebody in the car's past (a demon perhaps). converted the car to a Chevrolet V6 and Chevrolet automatic gearbox. The good news is there was no cutting or butchering done during this conversion. It looks to be a complete bolt in. which will make it a fairly simple task to undo the conversion. As part of the auction the car comes with a good running (low mileage rebuilt) 4. 2L 6 cylinder engine from a Series II XJ6. You will need to source a gearbox but there are several options open to you. *This vehicle has NO title and will be sold with a Bill of Sale only. Also. the mileage shown on the odometer is 63. 27 but. given that this car is 52 years old. I would not count on that being accurate. The body is very solid. The doors don't sag at all and operate as they should. All the glass is the original Triplex and in excellent condition. except for the windshield. which is broken. The windows all roll up and down properly. The wood is all there and needs restoring. There are only a few areas that will need to be re-veneered. I took a great many pictures which I will upload to my photo-bucket account. A link will be provided shortly. Please look at all the pictures and feel free to email me with questions. This car runs and drives but CANNOT be driven on the road. The transmission leaks and the brakes are inoperable. except for the parking brake. which works quite well. you will need to bring a trailer to pick her up or send a truck. We will be glad to help with loading and have flexible hours. The wipers and turn signals do not work but the fan blower. headlights. interior lights and horn do. The car comes with several nice amenities: Original tool kit. original Lucas Fog Ranger lamps in very good condition. original side skirts and original A/C under dash unit. I took the steering wheel cover off to discover a beautifully preserved wheel beneath. see pictures. The Mark II has become the latest climber in value with finished examples fetching $30. 00. and up. This may be your last chance to own one of these iconic Jaguars while getting in on the ground floor. For International customers. we can provide insured trailer deliver to Ports Savannah or Brunswick in Georgia or Port Charleston in South Carolina at an extra cost. You will need to make your own shipping arrangements but you will find us very communicative and helpful in the process. Just have your agent contact us. i highly recommend deciding your shipping options prior to bidding. Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas! On Dec-17-14 at 03:42:56 PST. seller added the following information:As promised. here is a link to 119 pictures: 1962 Jaguar MK IIAs you will see. the chrome on the window frames. cleans up very well using OOOO steel wool. If you then used some chrome polish. it would shine even better. The bumpers should respond just as well to a little elbow grease. I will add some pictures to the link of the Jaguar engine that is included in the auction. Please email with any specific picture requests. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night :-) |
