Description of 1969 Jaguar E-Type |
Beautifully Restored Early Series II We all know how gorgeous these Jaguars are. Every school boy that saw them when I was growing up wanted one! We didn't need Enzo Ferrari to tell us it was the most beautiful automobile ever produced. Now, e see prices skyrocketing for that exact reason. These series 2's are universally regarded as the best driving of all the models. Offered here is one of the best looking ones you will ever find. Finished in nearly flawless British Racing Green, his example was subject to a no expense spared restoration a few years ago. In fact, t was described to me as more like a re-manufacture. The engine and transmission were fully rebuilt as well. While the purists will say it was over-restored, here is no doubt when you witness this E-type, hat everything was done as perfectly to the owners wishes as possible. Chrome is perfect, ire wheels are perfect, irtually every fastener was replaced, nd the engine compartment is detailed out to near concours level. It starts, uns and shifts perfectly. Everything works as it should. You will be very hard pressed to find a more stunning example. The owner previous to me, elieved to be the second owner, ished to drive and enjoy the car. The odometer indicates approximately 12,068 miles. Sometime early in its life, t was treated to the installation of a Laycock-DeNormanville period correct overdrive unit, o counter-act the effects of the lower-for-america differential gear ratio. This of course lowers the noise level at highway speeds for a much more comfortable and enjoyable touring experience. I am told that the restoration took place on an already very clean, nbsp;rust free car that lived in the Montreal area. The elderly gentleman that owned this car previous to me claimed to have spent over $100,000 on restoration and maintenance. I do have the Jaguar Heritage Certificate that indicate it is a numbers matching car, elivered in Canada. If you are looking for a truly enjoyable example of this fast appreciating collectible that can even compete in local car shows, his is it. Of course, nspections are encouraged.Low-ball offers will not be considered. No dealers offering to consign. Please check with your wife and bank before you bid!! |
