Evolve Motors is pleased to present our 1971 Jaguar E-Type V12 Series III 2+2 Coupe.

This car is pretty much a time capsule. We had the car tucked away here for some time in storage. Believed to be an original 1 owner car we took possession of it only recently. It was purchased new right here in Illinois from Continental Jaguar, dealer that is still in place today. We spent some time and money doing a partial mechanical overhaul on it to bring it to the condition you see it here today. The car is quite a nice piece and would make a great driver and has all the potential in the world for a full on restoration project.

When we pulled her out of storage we knew a few items would need to be addressed SEE INVOICES IN PICS. The original differential was locked up and the fuel cell had been removed. The previous owner started to repair the differential so we had all the brake parts removed and set aside. We went ahead and overhauled the entire braking system including: calipers and discs, ines where needed, nd servos. We replaced the differential with a newly rebuilt one along with a new rear cage and completely went through the rear end of the car replacing U Joints and media blasting and repainting everything. We replaced the fuel tank with a new one and installed a new electric fuel pump. All of the carburetors were rebuilt and the fuel system was inspected and serviced. We re-hung the stock exhaust using all new donuts and clamps where needed. We did not want to take the project too far but we wanted to be sure we had a good driver. The lights works as they should however most gauges are currently non-functional and will need to be serviced. We note that the heat and air levers are sticky and non-functional because of it. The odometer/Speedometer and tach are not working. The car holds all fluids properly despite the gauges being inop. It has good oil and fuel pressure and starts with ease. Mechanically it runs quite well although we notice that it runs a little rich so it accelerates a little sluggishly but otherwise runs and sounds great. It shits in and out of gears nicely and has no noticable road noises. Signals and brake lights work as they should and the care steers very nicely and stops straight. The tires are at least 20 years old so we would certainly recommend replacing them before highway use.

The body overall is in good driver condition. It is far from perfect but does not show any signs or major impacts. We note rust spots inside the trunk pan area (see pics), frac14; panel edges and on leading edge, s well as on the drivers side of the hood. The rust is minimal and non-structural. The rockers looks very solid along with the other critical points on the body. We elected to simply wet sand and buff the car (believed to be re-sprayed some years ago) and it came out quite nice. It has dings and a few larger dents throughout and we note some bondo repair on the front of the bonnet. Our paint gauge shows us that for the most part this car has all of its original metals and no body filler other than the bonnet. The mouldings are all dry as you might expect however the glass all appears in very nice condition. The roof is nice and solid and dry, ree from rust. The bumpers and trim show in good condition with some dings and damage to the grille. The bumpers while showing some dings are in pretty good shape.

Inward the interior really came out nice. We simply gave it a good once over and the leathers really showed nicely. A leather dye spray would certainly set it off but we are quite pleased with what we uncovered. The dash is in top condition which proves that the car has spent much of its unused life in our storage showroom. The pans are all nice and solid as you can see and the trim shows nicely. The dash looks fantastic and shows minimal aging. The gauges looks awesome as do the toggle switches. They all move freely and show perfect patina. The console looks great and the shift gate is in nice shape. The factory radio is intact but does not power up. It appears in very nice shape and moves freely. We assume it does not have power run to it but cannot be sure. The factory AC is present however we did not spend any time getting it going. The choke moves and functions like new. The door trim panels show very nicely as do the interior trim parts and hardware. We note that the passenger door must be opened from the inside only. The rear interior is complete and the back seat cover flips over properly to maximize trunk storage. The tool kit is present and we have the spare tire and wheel (no pictured). The car was never smoked in and it free of any funky odors or mold. The shag carpet looks fantastic and shows free of any stains. The interior looks fantastic and is quite comfortable to settle in to.
