Description of 1973 Jaguar E-Type |
You are looking ata beautiful1973 Jaguar XKE V12 Roadster. This car has been in the same family since new, nd shows 56,000originalmiles on the odometer. With a total production figure of 6120 LHD Series 3 Roadsters, xclusivity is guaranteed with this car. The 5.3 litre V12 produces a claimed 272 HP and a massive amount of torque, esulting in both sub 7 second 0-60 times and effortless cruising at highway speeds. If you have never driven an E-Type Jaguar, ou owe it to yourself to experiencethe sensation and exhilaration associated with this iconic vehicle. They truly drive and feel like no other car on the road today. The combination of the long nose, nug cockpit, owerful engine, nd sweet exhaust note are not matched by anything else in this price range. This particular car was finished in Azure Blue from new. Atsome point in this cars history the ownercolor changed to the correct Jaguar Dark Blue for the 73 model year, ith a biscuit interior. The paint is in good condition, ith minor chips and scratches that happen over time. The is a dent on top of the rear right fender that I have included a photo of. The correct interior has been replaced about 6 years ago. Seats, oor panels, nd carpet set was replaced. Its in excellent condition, nd a high quality kit was used. All electronic items work as they should. All the lights work, eater/defroster, orn, ignals, ash lights, ooling fans, tc. The aftermarket radio works however there is no antenna attached to it, o no stations can be picked up. Within the last 12 Months the following items were addressed by a local Jaguar mechanic:All brake callipers have been rebuilt, sing new caliber pistons, nd new brake pads were fitted at all four corners. The rear rotors were replaced with new ones. All brand new Michelin tires have been put on. The canvas top was replaced with a brand new one that matches original spec. The exhaust system is new, he gas tank was re-lined, wo carbs were rebuilt due to sticking floats. Regarding rust issues: Jaguars of this generation all have them. Here are the ones for this car: There are two small spots in the trunk, ikely due to moisture being trapped in the truck pads. one is the about the size of a house key, he other is about the erasure end of a pencil. The rockers have been fixed with sheet metal that has been riveted onto them. I don't know whats under the sheet metal. That being said, have seen many E Types and this one is very solid and in good conditionwith no known major issues. Drivability: This car runs very strong. The V12 starts quick and settles into a smooth idle quickly. It burns no oil when running, nd maintains oil pressure of 50-55 psi when at temperature. The cooling fans come on when they should. On the road, he car pulls very strong and smooth under acceleration, nd has that wonderful V12 sound it should have. Braking is straight and linear, ith no pulling from side to side. The suspension works as it should, nd is extremely smooth with the new Michelin tires that are fitted. If you hit the BUY-IT-NOW or win it at the end of the auction, lease be prepared to put a $2000 deposit down within 24 hours, nd be prepared to pay for the car fully within a reasonable time. If you want to schedule an inspection, lease do so prior to the end of the auction.
