Description of 1957 Jaguar XK SE OTS

1957 Jaguar XK140 SE OTS Roadster

Brilliantly kept and refined XK140SE OTS Roadster!  All numbers matching engine, pgraded with Tremec T5 5-speed transmission, erformance front disc brakes, luminum radiator, tainless steel header & Falcon exhaust, nd more!  A splendid driver!

Boasting from the success of the XK120, aguar did what all great sports car manufacturers do which was contribute new features to counter criticisms to keep reeling in buyers.  This led to the introduction of larger interior cabin space by moving the engine, irewall, nd dash all forward by 3" to accommodate taller drivers better, long with effortless rack and pinion steering, mproved brakes and suspension travel with shock absorbing dampening.  Cosmetically it appeared nearly the same, ut larger bumpers with over riders, one piece grill accented with trim that ran over the hood through to the deck lid, nd special Jaguar emblems were affixed.   The one on the trunk lid made subtle mention of its heritage being the Winner or Le Mans from 1951-1953!

We are very pleased to offer this final production year 1957 Jaguar XK140SE OTS Roadster.  Finished in Old English White with original Red leather interior and new black cloth convertible top, t remains fully equipped with original, umbers matching 3442cc Inline 6 cylinder engine fitted with dual SU H6 carburetion, orgeous 16" chrome 60-spoke wire wheel wrapped in new Michelin X radial tires, actory Lucas fog lamps, ual exit exhaust, -spoke Walnut steering wheel, ood shift knob, aminated windscreens, nd dual fender-mounted mirrors!

This exceptional example bears a wonderfully solid chassis and body that has remained original without and noted damage or rust repair.  The body has been repainted in the distant past and remains very presentable today, hile the interior leathers appear to remain original and in remarkable condition.  The walnut wood dash is a near perfect indicating proper care, ith clear functional gauges, nd working safety items.  Overall, terrific platform that became the perfect candidate for the former owner of 5 years to upgrade with a few driver modifications that included a transmission upgrade to the Tremec T5 5-speed fully-synchromesh manual transmission, tainless steel exhaust header mated to a Falcon Stainless steel dual exhaust system, nd Wilwood front disc brake conversion with slotted & cross-drilled rotors!  Other significant upgrades include front seat belts, luminum radiator, olyurethane upper & lower control arm bushings, orsion bar bushings, ew ball joints, ll new Boge Automatic shocks, ew engine & transmission mounts, ew starter, pgrade Crane Cams Fireball HEI ignition, nd alternator charging system to a negative ground system!

It is skillfully tuned for easy starts and immediate enjoyment!  It comes with a matching chrome spare also fitted with new Michelin X radial tire, ack, hor mallet, rench, rank handle, nd oiler.  The odometer upon arrival to our showroom read only 89,724 which would appear to be original, ut the St. Louis Car Museum does not have enough evidence to support an actual mileage claim. Also included will be factory side curtains and cabin tonneau cover.  It represents one of only 3,347 Open Two-Seater XK140 Roadsters built between 1954 through 1957.  Based on this production #2983, t was certainly nearing one of the final vehicles manufactured.  A splendid driver example and one eager to cruise all open roads with confidence!  Titled off original engine # G9444-8.  Call with questions.
