Description of 1989 Jaguar XJS XJS

1989 Jaguar XJS 2 Door V-12 Automatic Convertible.Project Car.
Things to know about theMechanicson this Automobile:The Car Starts up and runs. When it starts it has a lot of valve train engine noise coming from the top end of the engine. It idles good with just a slight hesitation in the throttle response. Also the oilpressure gage is reading low oil pressure. The Car rides smooth. It goes threw the gears smoothly & also down shifts well when under power. The Motor has no smoke coming from theexhaust when the car is running. Also We found that thiscar likes to leak oil. I was told that this is normal for Jaguar's and if it's not leaking oil then its's more then likely out of oil. The Gages all seem to work correctly. TheFront Grill has a broken spot in it and it's loss. The Battery Needs to be replaced as for we use a battery charger to start the car.
The Car drives & rides. The car goes straight when I let go of the steering wheel. When I apply the brakes the car stops straight anddoesn't pull left or right. I heard no grinding orsqueaking noises from the brakes. The Tires on the car look good but we recommend that they be replaced if you plan on driving the car regularly or on a long road trips. The Power Convertible Top:Is Not Working as it should. On the motorthere is a switch that you can turn so you canmanuallyraise and lower the top. I found no tears to the outside of the blackconvertibletop or theconvertibletop cover on the outside. The inside headliner has a circle size tear the size of a base ball that is missing on the inside of the head liner.
Radio.Has a lock on it. I have a card with a code but was unable to get the radio to work.
The Body, Paint & Interior Seats:The paint on this car is Black in Color. It has some old paint over spray on the car. The paint on this Car looks to beoriginalwith no fading to the color. There are some surface scratches here and there on the car, Stone chips on the lower part of the fenders andquarter panels by the wheels, Some small parking lot dings on the doors. There is a large ding in thepassengerside rear quarter panel andpassenger door.
Interior:Shows signs of wear from normal use. The color of the interior is Tan. No tears to the door panels, no cracks in the dash, the wood trim on the glove box door looks good with no cracks. The centerconsole has cracks in the wood grain finish. The seats have some discoloration to the leather and the leather seats are cracked as seen in the images. Also theWindsheld has a large stone chip the size of a fifty cent piece.
Rust:The car has some rust found around the rear quarter panels in front of the rear wheels. The floor boards & trunk floor look clean with no signs of rust thru, just some light spot rust and the floorsare very solid.
The Chrome andStainlessLooks good.
STANDARD AMENITIES ON THE '89 MODEL INCLUDE:
AM/FM Radio. Have code card but cannot get it to unlock.Cruise Control.Power Windows works some timesPower Locks Not working.Power Mirrors workA/C Not Cold.Heated Seats.Power Seats.
With all of this being said this Automobile is a project car and is in need of having work done to it before putting the key in theignition and driving. It is in Fair Used Running Condition. Note: like I said in thedescriptionthe motor runs but it hasinternalengine noise that may require the removal and rebuilding of this engine. In need of a new owner that wants to invest a little time and love into thisbeautiful car.
The Car is not Plated & not Insured so the car will need to be picked up from are office in Walled Lake, Michigan. If you have any questions please ask.
