Description of 1971 Jaguar XK |
Very Proud to offer this iconic 1971 Jaguar RoadsterDesirable 4. 2l inline 6 motor Paired to a Manual Transmission. Excellent! This car has been owned by the same person since 1982! but unfortunately had to sell due to declining health. 1971 Jaguar Roadster 4. 2 inline 6. manual transmissionMechanical:this is a great hop in and go anywhere driver. cruise to car shows or to the store. or take it on the freeway!Runs great. smooth. runs cool. has a oil leak coming from what I believe to the the valve cover gasketsthe radiator has be Re-CoredA new fan has been installedThe transmission shifts as it shouldThe clutch could use an adjustment. It lets out a little high2nd gear synchro is starting to wear. It does not affect driving at all. minor at this point. Has great oil pressureBreaks are goodThe A/c compressor is missing. Paint/BodyThe car has been re-sprayed in the 90's it was originally silverit is great drivers quality. the body is straight no major dents but does have minor chips/flawsthere is some paint defect on the nose of the car. about 1'x1' does not appear to have been in a front end accident. the bonnet lines up nicely. I Would not hesitate to enter it into a car show in its current state. It is a driver and you will not have to worry about the small things. Interior/convertible topInterior is nice for the most partthe seats have been re-covered in un-original material/color. and are showing agethe dash. gauges. etc look goodThe carpet does not look original but is use-ableThe top is in decent shape. folds up and unfolds good. flaws in the top and the rear window is cloudyagain Good driver quality!Rust/Structure This has been an Arizona car its whole life. Very dry!Very minor rust the would only require small patches along the floor board seam on both sidesI could not find a spec of rust anywhere elsewhich is nice! Looks like the floors have had someone improperly use them as a jack point so there are some bends but solid!Any questions please askThe VIN of this car starts with 2R which is common in other jag OTS cars. go to XKEDATA. COM and look up this 2R vin. and you will find other examples of roadsters with this. Thanks!!! |
