1970 Jaguar E Type Series 2 Convertible, 4.2 motor Chassis # 1r12281 as per the Jaguar Heritage Trust, the numbers match.I purchased this car in July of 1984 and it has been off the market until now. This XKE went through extensive restoration for the next 2 years, all body panels that were replaced were from Terrys or Welsh Jaguar and were factory original, including a complete bonnet (I have a receipt for $1,900 in 1985 dollars). I probably spent $30,000 in 1985 dollars on the restoration. The motor was rebuilt, Everything was removed, rebuilt or replaced and painted the correct color. The Beige interior was ordered from England as were any parts to complete this restoration. New Michelin “red bands” were ordered to complete it as well as new wire wheels. I started to show this car in 1986 in Jaguar Clubs of North America Concourse events and received a couple of thirds, a second and 1 First place! In 1990 life got in the way with me and my Jag. She has spent the last 28 years in climate controlled bliss until I took her over to the same mechanic that restored her 32 years ago to go through everything before she was started. She runs and purrs perfect, a little cold blooded, as she should be. This is the first time in 33 years this Jaguar has been put up for sale. If you are looking for a Original Classic Jaguar with no expense spared this is it! Car is located in Sugar Grove Illinois.
