Description of 1986 Jaguar XJS |
This is a highly customized Signal Red 1986 XJS Coupe from the original owner with 255,000 mostly highway miles on the chassis and 22,000 miles on a 6.0 L V-12 engine, running on a custom installed Electromotive Tec 3r Fuel injected system whose computer is tunable by laptop programs through a new sports pack exhaust system. All the running gear has been redone and a Aston Martin temperature controlled fans package with electric water pump augmenting the OEM mechanical pump that all runs after shut down allowing heat to exit through hood louvers to eliminate heat soak powered by totally independent alternator and battery storage system. Interior is a complete custom Sea Bisquit leather redo with red piping on updated front heated seats with all interior wood custom redone and new Alpine sound system with Sirrus antenna and a Nardi steering wheel. New tires, new front windshield, updated wiper system with motor, updated lower running lights have been installed, newly installed outboard brakes on an updated 2.88 rear end connected by an updated TH400 transmission. A second 6.0L V-12 that needs some minor work is available if desired. As for faults, some minor hood latching details need to be addressed, a noticeable valve tick is present at cold startup and the emergency brake needs repair.
The car has impressive torque and runs like a dream. I am also selling an immaculate completelystock Aston Martin Chiltern green DB 7 convertible because at 90 years I am now more comfortable seated higher in a SUV. The XJS is better on the highway and the DB 7 is better in town so the ideal is to drive the XJS and ship the DB 7. |
