Description of 1994 Jaguar XJS 2+2 Convertible |
1994 Jaguar XJS 2+2 Convertible for sale to highest bidder. No Reserve! This car can easily be restored to classic condition or used to replace your engine and transmission or use for the hard to find parts. The parts to these cars are no longer being made and will be very valuable in the near future. The engine starts easily, runs smooth and the transmission shifts as it should. I purchased this car 1 1/2 years ago from a person in Florida. It has been in my garage most of the time since I purchased it. I Planned on restoring the car but I no longer have the time. A previous owner painted the car black over the original Flamenco color. I was planning on having it painted back to the original color if I kept it. I am selling the car as is, where is. Buyer is responsible for pickup at my location. I will be glad to show the car at my location for anyone that is local. You should be able to find a hauler and calculate costs through a link on this page. I have driven the car around locally but would not want to drive it on any kind of a trip. I will list the things I know for sure about the condition but I am sure there is much more you will want to do to restore it. The good: The engine and transmission seem good to me. The body is straight and no wrecks that I can tell or know of. The seats are in great shape and look like they may have been recovered at some time in the past. I purchased and replaced the headlights as the original ones had too much oxidation. I had the OEM honeycomb wheels painted, machined and polished at a cost of $160 each. The last 2 pictures show the refurbished wheels and new tires on the car. Just put in aftermarket radio and 4 pioneer speakers. The bad: Wipers not working. The air conditioning parts do not make any noise but I have no idea if the compressor is good or not. I have not had on the air or the heater. The system probably needs charging or assume the worst. Fuel gauge not working. Interior courtesy lights not working. Trunk carpet missing. I have top set on manual and it opens and closes easily by hand. The top does go up and down correctly when set to automatic but leaks a little hydraulic fluid at the pump switch. I have the gasket and will include it in the trunk. Top itself does not have holes that I can see and does not leak. However water does come in on the side at the car wash. May need new rubber seals. I removed the headliner. It was brittle due to age. I replaced power antenna with a stationary one. Previous owner removed some of the badges and trunk lock to paint the car. I purchased a trunk lock off ebay and will include with the car. There is no remote control with the car. Title: Car Fax is available for this car and it has a clear Kansas title. The mileage shows 71800 now and will have more by the time it sells. I believe the mileage to be true due to the Car Fax owner history. There are no accidents on the report and I see no evidence for an accident to the car. The previous owner stated it had not been in any kind of accident but no way to prove that. I try to list all known problems with the car but this car is 24 years old an will surely have things to fix that I have not listed. PAYMENT TERMS: All bidders must have a Paypal account to bid.
