Description of 1993 Jaguar XJ6 Sovereign |
This was my daily driver since I bought it back in the winter. It had its quirks (barely-there AC, busted window washer fluid system, rust spots, no map lights, etc) but I never had any issues that made me feel unsure about its reliability; I'd gone on plenty of long distance drives without ever having a problem. I was told by the mechanics at a local Goodyear repair shop that it was in good mechanical shape about two months ago. I really, really loved this car and as cliche as it is, I'm really bummed to have to let go of it. With its mileage (over-stated in description) and overall condition before the flood, I have confidence there are many salvageable parts but I can make no guarantees as to what they are because I'm far from a mechanic. With prices you'll see for Jag parts on eBay, this could potentially give somebody a very solid return. Current eBay rates for stock rims and a break accumulator make the value well past the starting price. Further searches will reveal many more expensive parts. I will not remove any parts from the vehicle, but again there are parts that have been damaged. I apologize for the redundancy but I want to be as clear as possible. This car no longer starts after being in the Dane County, Wisconsin floods- water was very close to or even reached the undercarriage. The power is very glitchy now and the floorboards are damp. It is being sold *as-is* and unless you are a mechanical messiah, I recommend that it is parted out. Although the current title is registered as clear, I have listed it as water damaged as it will more than likely need to be re-titled to reflect this (I may do so before the sale is finalized if law requires). Buyer is responsible to have the vehicle picked up from my house within two weeks of sale. Please ask if you have any questions. |
